I am looking forward to hear the answer on this, so if you could politely ask the magnificent @Natural_CloneKiller to reply to @Lord_Razpataz question we would all be happy bunnies.
That would be a discussion with all our leadership.
Edit. you could just consider joining
That’s kinda the issue, when the mechanics are set like this. The balance in the Merc community is ■■■■■■ up imho. I know I would if I where in pirat leadership.
And that’s also my point.
To have a healthy Merc community you should be allowed to be an opposition without having to play a n+1 game.
Now the option is either be friendly, join, or potentially be wiped out by someone much more dedicated than any null group.
Yep - CCP made it so.
They made it like Null in that regard.
CCP : Leave the NPC corp please.
Bears: To immediately be thrown into 40 different war decs in the first week? What’s the point??
CCP: Leave NPC corp please, now you can’t be dec’d without owning a structure.
Bears : Now I can’t even own a structure without being dec’d?
CCP : 10% NPC tax. leave npc please corp now
Recruitment channel: only 20% tax
CCP:
We had a merc war against a small Romanian corp way back when. No one else bothered with them, but to keep our contractual obligations, I went to check them out.
Turns out, they were feisty! We had to chat through google translator, etc. I popped a lot of them, but I taught them what little I knew of PVP at the time till they managed to drive my maller away!
Are their any small wars anymore?
These mechanics have been broken since retribution.
If you want to disband the large war dec groups… make wars cheap.
They’re banded together to pool money. Small wars are more fun for everyone… and in 2012 before Retribution, corps were limited to 3 war decs… the first cost 2 mil, 2nd cost 4 mil, 3rd was 6 mil. For more than 3 wars, you had to be an alliance.
Alliances paid 50 mil for first war and up after that.
This kept fighting corps small, fun, and beatable… so they could get fights. And pooling of assets was unnecessary.
The mercs had to have an alliance to have more than 3 war decs… but their memberships was limited by their ability to hold members… they had to be fun or their people would peel off to do small wars.
It was a much better system in my opinion.
What new players need to be faced with wardecs now when they leave their starter NPC Corp?
Can flipping and wars were things noobs used to do… not be protected from…
Yeah. Now ninja salvaging in trig invasions seems to be the best opportunity for fast ISK for new players.
But wars aren’t something they have to face any longer.
New war system just killed off all the highsec struggles and made the Merc environment a monopoly, thus ending competion for business, hiking up Merc contract pricing. It’s killed medium and small gang market, the more focused groups have quit or moved to null…,
Giving into the Carebears is killing the game… This game has a hardcore fanbase that been treated like they haven’t mattered for the last few years…, Years played no longer matters you can get a titan with your mom’s credit card… This game UST to be based on skill not your real life wallet.
I’ve had discussions with a few station basher corps and the general consensus is the same…the increase in cost to 100M really eats into the averages and makes the endeavor close to being pointless…
Carebears protected yet again…
Hopefully the change to nullsec local works out well and CCP see, that they don’t need to keep making the game safer. Adding risk can get people logging in too.
If so, then hopefully that becomes a catalyst for other increases in risk across the game and the reversal of the last few years of krab happy development.
Amen…
Being out in nullsec now I love the feel that it’s the wild west, at any moment titans can be dropped on you or anything for that matter, but with the blackout it’s a whole new ballgame and it’s exciting.
Big +1 to that. We’ll still use wardecs for our ISK generation, but last night after DT (Aus time) was one of the best play sessions our group has had in months.
IMO wardecs should only effect a constellation of the attackers choosing, and to wardec within said constellation they should have a war structure anchored. Currently the two corps that have most of the wars only effect people working in this constellation. If you add up all the constellations inside HS, and multiply that by 100m, you have quite a large war bill to maintain aggression across all of HS empire space.
I really hope this is the direction CCP eventual moves.
Why? Like seriously the game was fine 5 years ago, now player count is going down because your giving into the real life wallets and the “give me what I want now” crowd…
War decs were fine, you just needed to stop being a panzy and actually stand up for yourself in a game…
No they were not as the ones abusing WarDecs are not the types that most could stand-up to. The current changes are a step in the right direction but also a step in the wrong direction too…
I do find the concept of flying in combar recon interesting Or even 100mn cloaky T3’s
