I think it’s seriously unfair that players in battlecruisers can warp into the frigate-only defense complexes and farm kills that way, no? there should be acceleration gates in my opinion
I concur. I’ve seen Cruisers, Battleships, even a fleet of 10 Tactical Destroyers farming these sites and leaving nothing for anyone else.
I say these sites should not progress if there’s no appropriate ship piloted by a capsuleer, and the reward should be behind an Acceleration Gate that has the same restrictions as the capture area.
That’s the thing; the sites don’t progress without a ship of the appropriate size. That’s the especially annoying bit, because while the capturing ship is busy killing the non-elite NPCs, the oversized ships snipe the elites that actually give reward points while a Jackdaw slurps the reward.
I finished a site solo and some guy in a prospect looted the rewards before I could get to it. Real fun, CCP.
There is no incentive whatsoever to do these.
I can defend and conquer a whole complex and have someone steal the loot without even participating.
Did the site at least despawn when it was done?
The only real incentive is the elite mercs that spawn once every 2ish minutes, but there’s nothing stopping a capsuleer from warping on grid with a battleship and one-tapping the only enemy worth killing.
Here to bring more attention to this post! I have spent 90% of the event warping around to dead sites or frigate sites full of cruisers. The design does not create player interaction which I think was the intent it just makes for more warping around aimlessly - this does not translate to fun. Either gate the sites or spawn way more if CCP insists on the “player interaction” aspect.
I would feel bad showing up in my Marauder… except all the sites have been deserted.
They do eventually. I believe they disappear from the probe scanner after being looted.
