CQ was live and wasted resources.. EVERY PATCH they had to do something to CQ to allow the updates in the main game to continue.

It was live enough for players to use it once and then forget it existed.
for real. What?
Captains quarters came out in 2011 and was removed in 2017. It was hardly ever used and took more resources than it was worth, because the feature wasnt used enough
Cringe when people whine about Captain’s Quarters…
Go play Second Life!
CCP removed the Captain’s Quarters (walking in stations) in 2017 primarily due to low player usage, high maintenance costs, and technical limitations holding back development. It was a resource-intensive feature that only a small percentage of players used, and its outdated middleware hindered the implementation of a 64-bit client and future graphics upgrades
old software made it more easily to just scrap it instead of keeping the main game held down..
‘Whining’ for a reason… it was a missed chance to develope this game into another direction and to actually KEEP the player count up…all thrown into the dashbin because of stupid morons that didn’t liked the idea of changing 'THEIR ’ game into something ‘THEY’ did not liked…they cried out and yelled at every reasonable voice that basicly said ‘let’s see what they plan first’…THEY did not want it and this was enough reason for THEM…THIS IS THE TRUTH, THE ONLY TRUTH WHY Wis NEVER CAME…
Because it was NEVER developed…how is this even discutable…It never got farer than beta status because of ccp’s cowardness…
lol hahaha
NOW i’m sure that you are stupid …
This part i can agree with.
Eve has a lot of potential. I would love to walk around space stations to do my shopping. I’d love if our character avatars mattered.
Money has to be invested, time has to be spent. That isnt going to happen when what was available was only used by 3% of the players of eve.
You are the minority in this situation, there was never an army of people screaming, " You Shall Not Change My Game!"
obsolete, 32-bit third-party middleware that was incompatible with their necessary transition to a 64-bit client. Low player usage, immense development effort to rebuild it, and intense community backlash over resources diverted from core gameplay led to its removal.
it kept being the focal point over the core of the game itself, which was pissing off the 97% who didn’t use it to begin with.
it wasn’t their middleware they were using, so they couldn’t keep it up much less make it compatible for newer versions of EVE.
right…because it would have been developed 32 bit it would have been impossible to adjust it to modern technology…logical…
so are you using the same gpu, cpu motherboard from 20 plus years ago on Windows 11?
dude…READ what i wrote…i basicly stated that an update was to be expected…but again…you only read what you want to see…
It would have had to be completely rebuilt, as it was a 3rd party program that did not function very well with the rest of eve.
Again, that is time and money, which takes away time and money from development of the rest of the game. I remember every goddamn patch having major issues because of cq.
right…completely impossible task for a multi million dollar corp…do you even think twice of what you state?
Do you understand business at all?
Where do you think money comes from? Do you think it’s free to develop, publish and maintain a video game?
Budgets exist because money is not infinite. CCP is not a charity. It is a business.
To be fair to CQ, people weren’t using it because it was just one little room. If they’d actually gone through with having players able to decorate their own apartments and businesses, I’m sure people would have used it. WoW recently added player housing, and it’s pretty popular, people are doing cool things with it.
But if CCP gave me the choice “Do we develop the spaceship part of the game, or the avatar walking around part of the game?”, I would choose the spaceship part. Most of us would. There are other games that let me walk around.
Change out hardwiring implants without losing them.
For a while now I have been wondering why CCP hasn’t done anything to improve the use of implants mainly the 6-10 hardwiring implants. Imagine adding another layer that needs to be thought out before your journey. A lot of new players can’t afford the expensive 1-5 Faction skill implants and those should stay with the clone. Hardwiring’s should however be unplugged to your hanger and swapped out based on which ship type you are flying. This would encourage more players to buy and use implants rather than not because they either can’t afford to replace all of them for say projectile turrets, missile launchers, drone boats, or logi. It would encourage more people to use them if they could swap them around.
OH BOO HOOO HOOOOOOOO

Yeah, that’s the expected reaction…flaming instead of discussion…you were not the winners in this…we all lose…big time…
