What are your thoughts on sarcity?

Another thought on Scarcity: Just wait it out. What goes up must go down and what goes down must go up. While in scarcity, save up don’t spend. It may mean only logging in for an hour to do some housecleaning and collect log-in rewards… OH WELL, EVE isn’t the only game out there.
Thanks to Scarcity I’ve been able to explore other games and play some that I haven’t played for a while. In fact that works out well.
The day CCP decides to end scarcity is the day I’ll spend more than an hour logged in and give some fight to some hungry capsuleer who’s been whining about target scarcity… That day hasn’t arrived yet.

4th quarter this year they are “ending” scarcity.

So they say. Time will tell.

Destruction has been decreasing since about mid march. Production peaked shortly after the beginning of April. And mining has been declining since about May. In other words, over all economic activity in the game is in decline.

And prices can go down via the following…

  1. Supply shifts inwards because of scarcity and prices rise.
  2. Players leave or stop buying the more expensive ships so demand also shifts inwards.

The first one raises prices the second lowers them. Both end up reducing output and means there is just less stuff in the game.

Maybe, look at the MERs…?
