This is something I also miss. When I got my RL friend, who is now my corp leader to start playing eve I told him you can be as mean and rude as you want as long as you dress it up with language. Afterall, language is a weapon and it’s better to be fully armed than not armed at all.
He got a little too aggressive with some of the crybabies on these forums and an isd decided he was a bad boy and gave him an account warning and said his presence is not enjoyable or conductive even though he was correct in the majority of his statements.
Eve culture is changing and not for the best. There are countless arguments about how eve should not have safe spaces yet the isd’s on this forum as well as several players on this forum have decided that this forum is their safe space. They can attack and slander, lie and be completely full of feces, but the moment you threaten their concept of being perfectly safe in their wrong, victim mentality ideas you will be hanged.
Even when all he did was defend himself, he got punished. Edit - In one of the threads he participated in before the isd decided what they decided, he spent probably 20 posts defending himself from lies, slander, ad hominem and logical fallacies. That was the straw that broke the isd back and got him the account warning with threats of banning him from the forums completely.
You’re not allowed to defend yourself from any of those things, depending on who you are.
The people wanting safe spaces are the most dangerous and corrosive people in any community.
I had no intention of connecting my statement to exordium.
There is a group of people that want what they call “safe space” but in reality is just somewhere that they are in complete control and will not tolerate any form of opposition or deviation from their thought process.
They are the people that will go out of their way to punish others for “wrong think” and will weaponize every version and interpretation of rules to enforce their selected punishment. Unfortunately, some of those people are now forum isd’s and along with the others of the same thought line have corroded theses forums in selective ways.
The very thing my response was directed at, which I am sure you understood when you made your post.
Yes, agree about most dangerous as it exists already but doesn’t change the core nature of EveOnline as every doctrine currently can be challenged via war.
I miss a time where developers would under no circumstances introduce an invasive bell sound and useless announcement breaking immersion everytime I arrive somewhere. Why? It is unreal how CCP under new ownership ***** things up. They don’t see it that way, EVE becomes more and more arcade like. I hate it. They could at least provide an option to turn it off.
