What do you think of ganking?

Maybe he wants to impress you with his big Skiff.

I don’t own a Skiff anymore. You know this, but you’re committed to using anything as fuel for trolling me. I find it amusing though since I don’t regret my time in a Skiff in the slightest. I’m very fond of the memories of my time as a Skiff pilot. It’s a great little ship. To be honest, I’ve never understood why you hate it so much.

But it’s nice to know that some things never change- like you hopping on to troll me anytime I mention gang killing  Thanks for proving my point. You’re very reliable that way!

Hey @Glenduil just an honest and genuine hint: Aiko is just pushing your buttons and you’re completely falling for it every single time. Maybe in your head it seems like not but from a neutral observer’s point of view it sure does. Just thought I drop this tidbit in case you want to reconsider your approach.

Speaking of which what are you doing instead now then?

I suppose if there was no ganking the markets would come to a stand-still as the need to replace ships would be affected. The market would still see trade from low/null fights, in most cases a gank can only happen if you’ve not scouted. I suppose it’s an element of realism, if you cross the road without looking you’ll most likely meet an accident.

This is serious business, Glenduil is about to defeat all the gankers of New Eden, this is a histeoric moment!

:ccpguard:

If Glenduil is going to defeat all the gankers of New Eden. I am going to need a bigger tub of popcorn for this..

AAAHHH another rage quitting post.. WOW! Did not see that coming. /Sarcasm

Hey, don’t let the door hit you on the way out. You might dent the paint. That would be a bad thing to see happen.

The market is mostly player driven as you know. if there was no ganking then the argument would be “why isn’t my stuff selling faster”

You younger players are lucky as there was no such thing as pay to win when I was a noob, Eve was hard and there was absolutely no way to get faster skilling, you simply had to wait.

Eve has always been a game where you follow a process;

1, have a look at whats going on
2, adapt to whatever is going on

If you take a closer look there are lots of counters to ganking built into the mechanics, part of the problem is everyone wants easy mode. You can’t play multiplayer street fighter for example and then complain when the opponent blocks your hits and wins, you will have to learn to block otherwise it might not be the right game for you.

I wish more people would take the time to find out more about Eve instead of rigidly sticking to one play-style and then being shocked when it fails.

Can all of the complainers just find a pvp corp and learn about pvp? just enough to either fight or avoid a gank? Is that really so hard?

For some people the whole idea of adapting is just a jump gate to far. Add the fact a lot of people are expecting instant gratification. Wanting to climb into that ship they saw in an ad. Only to find out that it might be a bit before they get to that ship. And for all the skills to fly the ship might take a bit longer. Then finding out that experience is a lot more important than simply flying and getting into a fight. Than how many levels of skills you have.

Either the player learns to adapt game their game play. Such as I did.
Or the inevitable rage quit post..

I see lot of adapt or die posts in this threat, its funny its always miners who have to do the adapting.

Eve is a hard game, harder in the old days where as somebody said above if you wanted that shiny new thing you had to wait and get the skills, but it also has a blame the victim mentality, you should only use what you can afford, always watch over your shoulder, D-scan watch local etc etc kind of like, they shouldn’t have worn that top they deserved it. Yes its really not the same thing but as a magic space wizard once said, it is from a certain point of view.

I don’t care much about ganking i certainly wish it didn’t happen to me and i do watch local for sudden population spikes, cant every second because im not so hardcore that i have a bottle under my desk i pee in. Occasionally im called away from the computer due to having a family, what im saying is, it is easy for gankers, they group up and fly around when ever they like (time scheduling permitting i guess) pick a target and go for it.

A miner has to be aware all the time gankers only need 10 minutes, its easy for gankers there are lots of miners around and lets face it we all know CCP hates miners, they always have.

Or one person can multibox an entire ganking fleet and not having to bother with other people.

I will never forget the guy that tried and that we later found transporting ore in his Orca. I am very much in favor of ganking being allowed, but it shouldn’t be easy. Whether it would be profitable should depend on that market PVP of yours, shouldn’t it?
