What do you think would bring eve into a new golden age

1 Billion ISK.

Nope, records show that fine was already paid.

We would like to know why are you kicking over old stones?

Yes, fracture the huge coalitions into alliances at max. Null sec should be full of thousands of different orgs, not just a small few

War hqs and structure reqs for war are the primary reason that only one group is relevant in highsec and no competition will ever rise due to this.

EVE Online has never left its :sparkles: golden age :sparkles:

I think the problem is, thatā€™s literally not how humans have evolved to operate and exist. There already isnā€™t an eve sanctioned entity bigger than an alliance. These massive blocs exist out of the game through their own channels and relationships. The entire arc of human evolution is banding together into bigger groups for safety and productivity. Iā€™m not sure how you dismantle that in a game designed around the framework of how humans interact with each other without destroying that framework.

Coalitions by themselves do not exist in terms of game mechanics. Alliance is the highest level. There is no way to prevent people and groups to spontaneously band together, unless by royally pissing them off so they leave the game. If you want to break the power of any big group, you have to fight them, without developer involvement btw. Itā€™s really that simple. For that you need a ā€¦ ā€œbig, well-organized groupā€, not ā€œthousands of different orgsā€ in nullsec.

But hey, letā€™s get this TTC thing done to completion first, and then the renter space. But I seriously doubt that anyone not willing to fight/negotiate/risk for their piece of the map now will be any serious contender in nullsec in the future.

What would bring a new Golden Age to Eve you ask? @Mindahouf_Davaham

Simples. As has already been stated:

Good advertizing - Nujenif_Talvanen
[Including of] New reasons to play and engage - Kezrai_Charzai
[Reasons that] Focus on retaining old players and on generating new ones @Gadget_Helmsdottir
[Reasons including, 1] Fracturing of the large coalitions - Cleopatra_Ail
[2] Removing of alphas and skill injectors - Erik_Doshu
[3] Getting rid of bad faith, pay to progress schemes - Wesfahrn
[4] Getting rid of high sec PvP - Destiny_Corrupted
[All in order to] re-instill the thrill of overcoming difficulty - Aiko_Danuja

How then to achieve all these complimentary outcomes? Even more simples. Scrap unused(?) test server and relaunch it as Fresh Start server.

Advertize for 3-6 months in advance of launch. Maybe Christmas 2023? Anyone who logs onto ā€œFresh Startā€ after Christmas can have as much prior playing experience of Eve as they like. Just, no SP transfers, no assets. And, with no pre-existing toons, no SP can be extracted for injectors. At least, not initially.

Yes, CCP can still sell their multi-flavored starter kits, includung SP. But not in bad faith. Because you will see them coming! Alphas could still play Eve, but ONLY on ā€œExperienced Serverā€. If they ever turned omega they can then play on either server. But, anyone new or old playing on the Fresh Start has to, 1) start a fresh toon, 2) have a paid omega account on ONE of the two servers.

This would work for CCP finaciually because any existing paid omega (ie NOT a Plexed account) would have the right to a complimentary toon on Fresh Start. But, only ONE toon. No alts. No other accounts. Fresh Start-lite if you will. If they wanted more, they would also have to pay for a full-Fresh Start account.

All of those existing big alliances, PvP players, space-rich muppets? Gone. All would be in the same boat as everyone else at the launch of the Fresh Start space-grab, coming to you, 25 Dec 2023. Think of the thrill of having ALL that PvP experience and not a single pew pew ship, other than can be generated from the tutorials? Let the gods of Chaos rejoice!

Meanwhile, the Experienced Server would still exist for all those who like their toys. And it need not die 'cause it would still be the only option for ā€œfree to playā€.

Delusional

adjective

  1. characterized by or holding false beliefs or judgements about external reality that are held despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary, typically as a symptom of a mental condition.

Evolution has taken a step backward,

Null Sec

Feeling a little judgmental today, or just plain prejudiced ?

I donā€™t think you know how PLEX works. When someone uses PLEX to run their account for a month, CCP gets MORE money than someone just buying Omega. Why would CCP want to discourage that activity?

The big alliances would exist day 1. Do you really think starting over would somehow disrupt the massive network they have out of game? They would exist as fast as it took their HR people to hit ā€˜acceptā€™ on the corp invites. If you want to kill eve, splitting servers is probably the single best way to do it.

The problem is that CCP creates game mechanics to literally favour blobs. Its not natural evolution that made War HQs and war eligibility. CCP created the dominance of the superpacs with Skill injectors, tax farms, war hqs and structure requirements, peace periodsā€¦ etc. All accounts are free. you can multibox as many as your computer can handle and thats done by CCP design. CCP created mechanics to allow all this simply to favour bigger fights. They literally destroyed any competition to the superpacs to make them bigger and in doing that have destroyed the player driven experience and the butterfly effect for every single player other than the one pyramid in charge now.

The concept of the blue doughnut existed well before skill injectors - or many of these other items.

Iā€™m not saying that these items didnā€™t reinforce - or make life easier for the large alliances, but these items didnā€™t create them either.

The big groups, Imperium and Winterco and pandemic donā€™t care at all about war hqs or war eligibility. None of that has anything to do with super organizations in null.

They cared quite a bit, since some of their leaders went on record bragging about how their CSM lobbying campaigns directly led to the system being changed.
