ccp have already dumbed this game down so far that it is now attracting too many idiots and wallet warriors, bring back red moon rising on a stand alone server and don’t bother to fix it , patch it or change it, that was when eve was best, now its all about micro transactions and catering to cry babies…

I can agree with micro transactions being bad in all games. But remember EVE online is ccp´s game they will do what they like with it and will change so more people play it witch makes them more money eve online is not a charity game.

Well then maybe ccp should turn back add the learning skills, remove the new graphics remove citadels and the things you named lets make eve how it was in 2003. Also forbid new players to join all they do is cry and it´s there fault my game not ccp´s game my game has changed.

this game, like all other mmo’s these days has to have micro transactions to stay alive, I have no issues with that and it is a great way to combat rmt stuff, I don’t actually have issues with this, and it isn’t anybody’s fault either, ccp took notice of what other game devs had on the go, ccp noticed that their game was dropping players left right and center due to little or no content upgrades and basically spending all our sub money trying to get some sort of online vampire game up and going…for 4 or 5 years. So in comes the micro transactions, windfall of loot for ccp and then some upgrades for content…

However, when I started playing this game in 2003 if was a thinking players game, it attracted smarter players and very quickly washed out the dumbed down masses. It was a hard slow grind. Playing on weekends was impossible because the servers could only handle about 5k players…the game would be down for hours and hours.

Then ccp decided that they could get more players paying subs if they made it easier…so they took out piles of skills that some of us had spent months training so we could have an edge on the other guy, then ccp found this thing called a nerf bat and they used it freely to “balance” the game…it was perfectly out of balance and smart players could sort that ■■■■ out…just not the dummer ones…who seemed to be crying about stuff so much that ccp had no choice but to listen so they could keep that sub money coming in. This would have been about 2010 or 2011, don’t remember, but I do remember that many of my long term eve mates had stopped logging in, by 2012 I wasn’t logging in much either.
The quitter came on some dull night at a station camp, wt undocked, I lit him up and got conk’d, eve was broken and no longer a fun game to play.

FF to about 2 months ago, havent played in 4 or 5 years, decided to log in and see what was up, noticed the changes and decided it was time to spend some of my billions in blink winnings on ships and ammo, but there are no decent small gang outfits these days, everybody needs to be in a blob…wow, back to world of warships…I actually have better fun playing stronghold kingdoms

I started my self back in 2007 before they removed learning skills I totally understand you and how you feel some change I dislike my self believe me. But I think if eve does not change to attract more people or new people.

I don´t think eve would be alive today even if eve was like it was back in the day with and with no new players joining if could not survive because I don´t think all old eve players would keep playing eve for ever because some time sooner or later some people just quit anyway even if they love the game some quit because they maybe find another game they enjoy more, some people maybe wanna focus on there life or other things. I mean there is several season people quit.

I seen few old mmos die because it did not attract new people and it could not survive on does few 1000 dedicated fans mmo´s are expensive as hell to keep up and add new content to keep old player happy they got new things to do.

Also old mmos going f2p is often a sign of the game dying Tera was dying Star wars the old rebublic was dying neverwinter night was dying all of them went f2p and some games like Tera or Neverwinter is doing better today thanks to day.

In the end CCP is a company there main goal is to make money so they will do tons of stupid ■■■■ to see how they can make more sadly. I think Both dust and that vampire game they both abandon was stupid but they wanna make money heck even EVE Valkyrie removed the need for VR proboly because it did not sell well.

In away im glad eve maybe changes in away because it´s still the best sci-fi mmo out there and no one is doing a new freelancer or wing commander so im glad eve is still alive even it has changed. To be honest I think skill training queue is a good thing not because oh it makes it all to simple sure it´s simple and convince but I can then focus more on pvping or mining or pve and such instead of having to micromanage every thing in eve I can focus my time on playing the game and skill training in eve has never been a fun part of the game ever it´s not like a jump of joy and say wee im gonna train a skill. So with the skill training queue for me is more like so I can pick my skill let them do there thing allowing me to focus on what what I enjoy in eve I hope you understand what I mean.

You really do not come across as mature, so you should not be complaining about them being immature. And he is actually right. It is you who does not have the knowledge and understanding why he is right. You should check what he is talking about, before blindly assuming you know better … because you do not.

The thing that proves EvE is a true sandbox game is pretty simple.

Every sandbox has it’s hidden cat turd.

It isn’t who is throwing sand in your face that matters. It’s how good you are at avoiding those cat turds that get tossed your way from time to time.

Okay, so what follows is entirely my personal opinion.

It’s not a case of not “catering to the tearfilled entitled”, it’s a case of us staying true to the core of what EVE was built on.

Some of the people complaining in this thread have valid points about the fact that they don’t feel safe. Simple fact of the matter is, that you’re not suppose to feel safe in New Eden.

Eve is not a game for the faint hearted. It’s a game that will chew you up and spit you out in the blink of an eye if you even think about letting your guard down or becoming complacent.

While every other MMO starts off with an intro that tells you you’re going to be the savior of the realm, holds your hand, protects you, nurtures your development and ultimately guides you to your destiny as a hero along with several other million players who’ve had the exact same experience, EVE assaults you from the second you begin to play after you create a character, spitting you out into a universe that under the surface, is so complex that it’s enough to make your head explode.

The entire design is based around being harsh, vicious, relentless, hostile and cold. It’s about action and reaction, and the story that unfolds as you experience these two things.

True, we’re working hard to lower the bar of entry so that more players can enjoy EVE and can get into the game. Our NPE (New Player Experience) is challenging, and we’re trying to improve it to better prepare rookies for what lies out there, but when you start to play eve, you’ll always start out as the little fish in the big pond.

The only way to grow is to voraciously consume what’s around you, and its your choice whether that happens to be New Eden’s abundant natural resources, or the other people who’re also fighting their way to the top.

EVE is a playing experience like no other, where every action or reaction resonates through a single universe and is felt by players from all corners of the word. There are no shards here, no mirror universes, no instances and very few rules. If you stumble across something valuable, then chances are someone else already knows where you are, or is working their way toward you and you better be prepared to fight for what you’ve discovered.

EVE will test you from the outset, from the very second you undock and glimpse the stars, and will take pleasure from sorting those who can survive from those who’d rather curl up and perish.

EVE will let you fight until you collapse, then let you struggle to your feet, exhausted from the effort. Then when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel it’ll kick you flat on your ass in the mud again and ask you why you deserve to be standing. It’ll test you against every other individual playing at some point or another, and it’ll ask for answers.

Give it an answer and maybe it’ll let you up again, long enough to gather your thoughts. After a few more steps you’re on the ground again and it’s asking more questions.

EVE is designed to be harsh, it’s designed to be challenging, and it’s designed to be so deep and complex that it should fascinate and terrify you at the same time.

Corporation, Alliances and coalitions of tens of thousands have risen and fallen on these basic principles, and every one of those thousands of people has their own unique story to tell about how it affected them and what they experienced.

That’s the beauty of EVE. Action and reaction. Emergence.

This used to be true, not anymore I can sit in my cloaky nullified t3 doing what ever I feel like without worrying about a care in the world, with that t3 I can breach any gate camp in the game and go where ever I like even in the heart of enemy space.

Or I can join a null group sit in anom’s all day with 3-4 Vexor navy alt’s and dock up when enemies enter local and then undock and keep farming when they leave care free.

I can even afk in those null sec anom’s because drones will do all the work for me, If they shoot my drones then I just swap to a gila with drones that have more tank than the ship and all is good and easy again and back to semi afk :].

If there is loot I need to haul to high sec to sell all I need to do is scan a highsec wormhole and take it through there, there is no more danger and risk in eve and all combat is easily avoided if you know what your doing, it’s sad but true.
