What if rats and npc's were more interesting and cunning?

CCP has already upgraded the AI to include Burners and Mining NPC’s.

I think it would awesome if CCP turned the Burners loose from the cage for a few weeks each year.

Everyone keeps mentioning Drifters as if they have some remarkable AI. I don’t think so. Their ships are just OP. 4km/s BS, pointing and webbing from 250 km, high omnidamage, and DD, that’s it. They still come straight at you, then orbit slowly at 250m/s until one of you dies. They switch targets as Sleepers did. They prefer e-war and logi as all other rats do. So what’s so special about them?

What would compose an advanced AI? I think AI can emerge as rats fleet behavior, like when you enter a room in a mission and there’s a fleet composed like diamond rat fleets are with logi and ewar, and then they spider tank you, point and rewarp… but reward would have to be ginormous and you couldn’t solo those kind of missions anyway.

No single type rat fleets like Circadian Seekers (cant type their new name) or Drifters can show their advanced AI in any way other then switching targets. I’d call that rather small and pathetic for an AI.

I mean what is the idea behind those smart fleets? Are they supposed to be non soloable, forced fleet content? How fun is that in a sand box game? Like Drifters turned out to be soloable when they were introduced, but then got fixed by getting more OP, that’s when they got to point and web from 250 km or more I think. How fun is that? How is this a sand box rat behavior?

How do you overcome Drifter OP-dness? You bring T1 destroyer blob. How fun is that? That might seem like a players sand box emergent response but I’m afraid that actually CCPs designed and predicted response.

That or people ignoring Sotiyo/FOB guards altogether. Seems like there’s little demand in smart rats to me.

Nothing’s better than a meaningless loss to NPCs. Counter suggestion: Each mission has a russian roulette gun at the gate. No need to bother with making surprise-ur-fukt NPCs when you can just implement it into the gate mechanic and remove NPCs altogether.

Maybe it just my abandoned citadel…but i think CCP rolled back FOB roam rats they don’t attack it anymore and i don’t see them anywhere,no one can tell my that crying on forums wont budge CCP into action.

How about NPCs, which when they have you down to 10% hull and scrammed they then ask you for a ransom?

Only if they blow you up after you pay to be true to EVE.
