The guy seems to believe security standing trending toward 0 is a bad idea because according to him it is easy to get -10. I dont understand that argument because he seems to believe getting -10 is too easy, but at the same time he wants it to stay that way. So today if you want -10 you go to Jita once and do the thing he said. But if security status trended toward 0 over time you would have to do it more than once to keep -10. How is that not better?
It would also be cool if security status trumped faction standings. So if you had a high security status faction police would leave you alone. What could be bad about that? Lets hear the glaring shortcomings from that pls! GENUINELY CURIOUS
You have presented an idea to the community.
We are pointing out the myriad ways in which this idea can be completely circumvented.
Many of us cannot see the point of the changes you are suggesting.
Many ideas get presented to this forum. Very few of them cannot be either circumvented or abused.
If this is ānitpickingā, then i will pick those low hanging, obvious nits.
It is not smart to think that situation B is worse ābecause ppl can just do it over and overā if they want to maintain -10. Unless you believe that Jita will be full of this type of player under these circumstances. But even of it will, what is the harm. Its just ECM.
There are more interesting questions such as what if a player creates a character to do piracy then logs off for and waits for half a year until security status is back to 0? And what if he has like 6 characters he rotates between? That is just being smart and not a reason not to do it imo. But lets hear it from the community. Even tho i bet the community will always pick Situation A for no other reason than thatās how it works today. So yea, how smart is the community really? Maybe we should ask them that as well^^
Youāre not making a compelling case as to why your proposed changes would be A Good Thingā¢.
Instead of simply attacking and belittling those of us who are engaging with you, why not flesh out your concept and explain the benefits you believe it will bring.
I donāt claim to be ātheā community, just a member of it.
From my reading, the main beneficiaries of this will be nullbears running anoms in ISKātars.
The number of nullbears with 5.0 sec status is considerable. For them to maintain that sec status, they simply have to do exactly what theyāre currently doing.
And for doing this, theyāll earn more?
And you donāt see any issue with this?
AFKātar and Gila bots already infest vast swathes of nullsec.
You propose to reward them with a higher income?
As for your average nonbot nullbears, theyāll also earn more for doing their current activity?
Thereās very few ways a nullbear can lose sec status. Short of going to lowsec or indulging in some hisec ganking, youāre average nullbear will maintain their 5.0 sec status basically indefinitely, simply doing what they are currently doing.
Increasing payouts for anoms in null space will have knock-on effects through the rest of the economy. The most obvious would be inflation.
Hisec carebears will also start getting higher payouts under your scheme.
Thereās a reason ccp hasnāt increased rat bounties. That reason is inflation.
Do you understand yet? Or do I need to use smaller words?
