What is the point of having a high security status?

If you can’t defend your idea from honest criticism, then maybe it’s a bad idea?

How am i arguing in bad faith?

You focus on edge cases that are not a problem, you resort to manipulation and also show a lack of respect for people who disagree with you or even prove you wrong

O.o
Your definition of an “edge case” varies wildly from my own.
I have shown you far more respect than you have shown me.
You have yet to “prove me wrong” on anything.
Kindly respond to the points I made regarding inflation and nullsec anomaly ratting maintaining high security status.

True. Crowds have been wrong before.

Let me examine your proposal…

Like low income residents getting government help?
Like Welfare??
Nope. Bad idea. :-1:

Folks who pve in high sec or just travel to moons killing rats dont need anymore passive income than they already get.

There are ingame mechanics already available to raise sec status. Tags and or shoot rats in high sec

Im at 5.0 and i already get passive income due to my “job” as a USIA member. I dont believe i just should get passive income because i been “good” nor should i get it if i was evil and decide to hide out for an indeterminate time frame.

If i was to do the work and shoot rats to redeem my name or turn in tags that is fine

So all in all there is no point in having a high sec status and people who take the time to respond seems to think there shouldn’t be one. Is this the ideas forum?

Security status changes if other players can shoot you in hisec right?
And faction standings change if the faction police/navy can shoot you, they change two completely different things, so if you were gonna make sec status be the one that matters in hi sec for both if players can shoot you, and if faction police and navies can shoot you, then why would faction standings exist?

So i think you asking the wrong question because faction standings are used to gain access to more lucrative missions and i also believe it lowers the amount of tax and and what not when using market in that given factions station. Or at least it used to iirc. But Why does faction police exist when CONCORD already exists?

From a player perspective i can tell you it does not feel rewarding to be locked into one area of high space due to faction standings. And it would be a breath of fresh air if Security Status trumped Faction Standings when it came to being hunted by faction police assuming you are not at war with the given faction.

Because they dont work the same way. CONCORD strictly punishes anyone who commits a crime. You cannot attack CONCORD.

Faction police and faction navy are two separate entities from themselves and CONCORD. You can also attack and destroy facpo and facnav

What? Faction standings are to give you access to ALL corporation missions. So if you have 5.00 effective with Cal state, you can do all missions up to level 4 for every corporation regardless of corp standing.
Its also useful for FW when you get up to 8 or 9 standings.

Just one part of this is faction. You must have corp standings to have the lowest possible of 1% for broker fees. If you just get faction standings you’ll only be at 1.2% with max faction BASE standings

What if all standings trended toward 0 over time? Even faction and NPC corp standings? This would keep things going. Can also introduce a new skill that slows standings decay down. And then to throw players a bone when its introduced, faction and corp standing increases from all activities can be permanently increased. Thats a great idea.

I’d like to see a system like jump fatigue added to posting on the forum

People take breaks from eve for a variety of reasons.

You want them to come back and find all their standings reset and they have to grind them up again?

How about: NO?

What else are they going to do when they return?

Do people support rich traders having to “grind standings” once to get cheapest broker fees, or do they support it becoming something that needs to be done every now and then
