What is your motivation when 1 Billion ISK is below 4 dollars?

What’s my motivation? Besides the fact that I love this game, I have nothing better to do and all day to do it.

Although the sun is shining now and the hound is encouraging me to “touch grass”. Might be time for that agility training this summer…

1st thing you have to do is drop the “keeping up with the Joneses” mentality. Just focus on yourself, find your niche and run with it. It’s a sandbox.

I was scrolling and waiting to see if I really have to point this out myself. I’m surprised that wasn’t the first response to him.

1b does not cost less than 4 dollars.

It’s 8.3 eur at the moment to be more precise, so at least double what he is claiming.
Go back to grade shcool math classes!

Hobby and the detail I enjoy when it comes to industry in EVE

I sure hope you have motivation in RL because someone always has more $$$ than you…

Don’t play for isk, that is the carebear way.

Play for killmails.

Now you’ve got a reason to spend isk!

Oh no, heaven forbid someone dares to write too much in a discussion forum. Truly, the horror. Let me get this straight: you’re upset because I used a tool that helps me express complex thoughts more clearly and efficiently… and somehow you feel victimized because reading is now a requirement? I didn’t realize participation came with a word count tax that made comprehension optional.

Here’s a wild concept: if my posts are too long for your attention span, you can just… scroll past them. You’re not chained to a chair with your eyelids taped open, Clockwork Orange-style, being force-fed my digital essays. This isn’t a homework assignment. You’re not getting graded. And I sure as hell don’t remember signing a contract making you my editor or hostage.

Let me guess—you probably hate books with more than three chapters, think TL;DR is a constitutional right, and believe EVE patch notes should be summarized in memes. Meanwhile, I enjoy actual discourse. Different strokes, right?

But let’s be real: the real issue isn’t word count—it’s ego. You’re annoyed that I have the audacity to articulate something at length with a bit of polish, and you’re uncomfortable with how easy tools like ChatGPT make it for more people to contribute at a higher level. You liked it better when forums were gatekept by your personal standards of “acceptable verbosity.” Sorry to disappoint, but expression isn’t exclusive anymore. Welcome to the era of accessible communication.

So if you don’t like what I write, don’t read it. Your preferences are not my problem. I don’t work for you, I don’t write for your convenience, and I’m not submitting essays for your approval. You’re free to post your own thoughts—in as few syllables as you want. I won’t stop you. But don’t come at me for writing too much when the real problem is that you’re too lazy to engage.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to write another thoughtful post that you can angrily not read.

None. As a new player, you are up against the oldest, most wealthy and most experienced players out there.

I once had enough ISK that I talked it over with friends to see if I could affect just one market and, in the end, while it would have been fun, I would have lost isk.

I started in 08 so I have an unfair advantage in experience that just doesn’t apply to the latest gen of players. I hate giving bad news to good people.

I got rich by accident by just having fun. Thats probably the best way to play EVE.

I’ve read the Old English bible, Gideon bible, Tora and Koran cover to cover.

Not the best I’ve read.

Try it sometime… You might find the entitlement you’re looking for.

Oh, and just like the last Jehovah Witness who crossed swords with me walked away after admitting to aliens.

@Xadraz_Blackstone It’s a game, it’s meant to be played and enjoyed so it doesn’t make much sense to buy isk but to other people I guess it isn’t a game, it’s some kind of competition and they have no time for fun, they want stuff now so it makes sense for them to buy isk…
My motivation is to only have fun!

Whenever they come to my door, I act interested and let them talk for a few minutes before I offer to sell them some drugs. Then we just stare at each other in awkward silence, because neither of us wants what the other is selling…

I agree with:

I’d rather read your thoughts, however incoherent, than some blurred, reformulated, statistically closer to the average brochure, version of them.

It’s like you, or your LLM said: This isn’t a homework assignment. You’re not getting graded.
