What are your feelings towards the Eve Online economy?
Are you happy with the current situation?
How is it compared your experiences in the past?
Would you like to see improvements?
Please share whatever details you think relevant. Just keep operational security in mind. Want valuable feedback, not actionable intel on your game activities.
Yeah, be careful! If anyone gets to know who you really are and what you do, they will hire mercs to camp your POCO for 14 days straight, to catch your crappy T1 fitted Epithal while hauling 1000 units of Water.
OPSEC guys, OPSEC!
Jesus…
Here, valuable feedback on my EVE Online experience: Strange clowns are crawling out of the woodwork in the forums recently. I’d greatly appreciate efforts from FC to stop that.
Came back to the game two months ago after a 4 years break from Eve.
Market is still the same as it was and it will always be this way:
Most T1 ships are sold at loss unless maybe you have a full T2 rig Sotiyo in null. It could also come from the fact that most big industrialist buy the ore in bulk on contracts or really cheap buy orders. Also, you will always have those miners claiming that their minerals are free because they mined their own ore. They produce at loss but don’t really care.
It’s the same for most of the basic ore. Unless you can reach a reprocess rate close to 90%, most ore on sell order in Amarr or Jita are priced higher that what you would get on minerals after reprocess. For some ore, even buying on buy order don’t give you more value after reprocessing.
So you really need to buy on contracts to local miners or very cheap to get the best value for your money.
You really need to start producing T2 to get some margins and it’s not that great on most items or ships. You really need to find some niches.
To conclude, probably that there is not enough destruction in Eve compared to what is mined or produced. So prices stays on a flat line. As an industrialist, you really need to track everything on google sheets to keep an eye on your margins. For some, it’s a game in the game and it’s fun. But for most people, it can become a second job after your IRL job and a real pain.
I appreciate this answer. Thoughtful and well stated.
I agree with the lack of destruction. Too much risk aversion; not enough “let’s see what happens”. To much efficiency calculations; not enough disposable ISK.
You are not allowed to post anything that contradicts the narrative that EVE is anything but awesome, any posts regarding “issues” will be considered inappropriate.
That really depends on how you write about the issues. If you do it in a neutral and constructive way, not necessarily objective, but without swearing and rudeness, there usually is not any problem and discussion then actually takes place.
It is what it is. I make do with it and go with the flow.
Very happy.
My experiences in the past date from a few months ago. I can say that they didn’t change from before to after Exordium.
I think FC is doing a good job.
Of course. Improvements are always welcome but I’m happy with the way it is now.
Well, the BIGGEST problem of EVE playerbase is- eve playerbase.
Selling things under the value of its components is a laughing stock of whole internet, and when paired with same people saying that you need to be “super duper intelligent” to play eve online- it makes the stink even more pronounced.
And if you do mine- it is ALWAYS better to sell ore and buy minerals.
EVE is game for people that failed basic math and have zero common sense.
BUT!
They are easy to exploit, so money is coming in, regularly and dependently.
1-- Do you ever undock?
2-- If yes, then in which constellation(s) are you most likely to do it?
3-- Name 3 most often used hulls you undock in.
4-- Are you happy with the undock feature of the game?
I need this for my research into health of the undocking feature of EVE Online. Please be as precise in your answers as possible. Your feedback will be a valuable input for further development of the undock feature of EVE Online.
It is a GAME. You can also decide to do things not for you but only for your corps profit or give away all your stuff you come about for free to other people.
Because your life doesn’t depend on it. Because it is a GAME and you can decide how you approach it.
Some people just want to experience the mechanics - be a ship builder for example - and completely don’t care for any profit. Others only want just to socialize and do stuff for the group. Because - you know - GAME?
Also there are the whales of course. They don’t care for any income. They just flex their credit card when they need to see isk in the wallet and want to have the fun and endgame only.
“It is just a game” is the same to me when i say game sucks- and someone comes along and say “it is not the game, the game is sandbox- it is youuuuuuuuuu”…
What is the point of playing the game if you do not want to win?
I do not get it, ESPECIALLY game like eve online.
If we are talking about some game where you can relax, likesandbox driving game or some walking simulator or builder of some kind- then yes.
But saying “I want to relax in a game that is very close to real life trading simulator” is…strange to me.
But if you can relax playing this game, more power to you.
It might be a shock for you, but there is no “winning the game” in EVE.
There is no final level that you can master and get an ending animation or some final ship to fly and you are done.
You set your goals, you achieve them, you feel good. Whatever those goals are…all are equally valid.
