Fellow capsuleers,
As an explorer of Signal Cartel and long-time archivist of New Eden’s forgotten corners, I often find myself returning to the old Chronicles, the ancient reports, fragments, and half-remembered stories that predate even many of our Empires’ current borders. They remain some of the richest pieces of lore in our cluster… and many of them describe places we have never been able to visit.
I would love to see some of these historical sites become fully realized Landmarks, especially those tied to pivotal moments in early interstellar exploration:
• The Eye of the Needle – the Sixth Candidate’s Wreck
A silent memorial around the 5th planet of the damaged wreck from Lakat-Hro Great Caravan. The Chronicle paints such a vivid picture of that freighter, it feels like a site begging to be rediscovered, catalogued, and preserved.
• Nale’s Wreck – from The Book of Emptiness
A jagged monument drifting somewhere between failure and myth. The fate of Nale’s expedition is still a mistery where it ended.
There are other Chronicles, short stories, each holding pieces of New Eden’s early history, where a wreck, a derelict station, or a phenomenon could become a physical place for explorers to find, visit and study.
In addition, many existing Landmarks lack full descriptions or historical context. It would be wonderful if some of these could receive expanded lore entries, even short ones, or if the community could help propose additions that enrich the world while keeping it lore-consistent. Giving each Landmark a story, even a brief one, makes New Eden feel more alive, more ancient, and more mysterious.
As capsuleers we chart the space between stars, but it is the stories that give those stars meaning.
A following of this old topic.
