Point is I see the point of creating stuff CCP never imagined. CCP on the other hand dont.

But why set yourself in style and all people care are your ship skin and skill…
They don’t even have a fashion show…

I wish the attributes had some meaningful use in game. Your race, education, etc…should have pro’s and cons in game imo.

They do. You should not mistake a lack of scripted stuff as evidence that there is no meaning.

I can tell you a few.

You can find people roleplaying racists or pretending dislike of your faction, or looks. A character’s education, in EVE, is literally your skillpoints and the amount of brain you invest into both the game and while socializing. This, too, has serious impact on people’s gaming experience. Chosing a female character allows for interesting reactions and new game play options when it comes to male players, including: gold digging, awoxing and NSFW stuff.

The game is fine. The people are broken.

They do, they affect how fast you can train each type of skill lol

Its a relic of the early days when your race and origins mattered. Your attributes effected your gameplay in a meaningful way. Then there was Achura one of the best races due to low charisma. My Achura alt still has her prenerf attribute allocation.

Your avatar did matter at one time before the army of basically faceless alts that now saturate eve. But skill injectors mean age is nothing. That 3 day old char can possibly pilot a titan. Not likely but possibly. Its all out the window now…

My vernacular was off. I wasn’t talking about character attributes in terms of intelligence, memory, etc…I was talking about race, education, profession.

They did have meaning, they affected the skills you started with, not sure if they still do but that was the reason they existed back in the day and there was no point removing them

I identify with my characters. I once had a female and I just couldn’t reconcile the feeling of awkwardness, nor could I feel comfortable imposing my male psyche to guide her actions. It just felt phony.

Someone will now suggest psychotherapy, but it was just easier to banish her to the clone vats and form a male character.

I can imagine her resenting not getting enough skill training time, and complaining about playing time, getting a new ship, etc. Yeah, I’ve been married…

This is actually not the case. At one point, the race and background chosen set your starting skills and equipment.

Currently - I would say it is more a role playing thing.
