When did ccp kill **YOUR** playstyle?

Wondering whatever happened to “Adapt or Die”.

It turned to “Adapt or Leave.”

Or “Adapt or bitch on the forums”

It was actually always this. Unfortunately, enough people have finally left, that it’s going to have to change.

Depending on whose doing the telling.

More recently, CCP killed any pvp based play style I can imagine by allowing their game systems/servers to become very unreliable. That’s when they don’t just decide to intentionally block my ISP/region entirely.

Game mechanics matter little when I can’t connect to the game.

(I’m not currently active, and won’t be until I see a response to these issues)

But… The spice must flow…

Yeah, I thought about mentioning that as well. But - that’s actually just the step in between which then leads to either reconciliation with the game or leaving. People who discuss, try to bargain a place for their playstyle within the game.

To be fair, the game, maybe any mmo, can only cater for a certain breadth of playstyles. The more you want to cater to many playstyles, the harder you have to work on making it work. At the same time you have to make sure not to give in to the wants of one particular playstyle. I think CCP did that pretty well for a long time, but once they started to overly accomodate for sov blobs, the wheel begun to roll and there is no going back. Many people of other playstyles have left, which only means that there is even less incentive to put dev time into those areas and mechanics. Even if they did, there is no guarantee that this would bring back previously vexed players.

The amount of online players looks very stable over the last 2 years or. It would seem that for every player who left, they managed to be replaced with new/returning ones or more accounts per current player. So I don’t know if anything has to change in that regard.
The over-dependence on this one particular group with one particular playstyle, could indeed become a problem, but it’s not something that will bring back the old times.

They killed my playstyle when botting / multiboxing / AFKing became the norm in order to obtain caps. They killed it by making such incredibly bad decisions and on such an incredible scale that it breaks records and all common sense.

How dare you not bot?

When mineral composition was “re-balanced” at the advice of a single null-sec player, gutting income from high-sec mining. Not once, but twice. Then doubling the amounts of Zydrine and Megacyte in manufacturing, because Null-sec needs even more share of the wealth.

When ore sites were converted over to anomalies - because well, let’s dumb-down things a bit. I used sell bookmarks to mining corporations for a nice tidy side-line.

When it takes minimum five years before mining barges receive a means of self-defense with a four mid-slotted Procurer. Meanwhile it only takes angst from the Goons to see Drone Assist neutered within Six Months. But later its, “too many fly the mackinaw”, lets put a 25% nerf on Procurer, Skiff, Retriever and Mackinaw. Hey can the same method of evaluation be applied to the destroyer ship class? (didn’t think so).

When Freighter Containers were changed to expire at Down-Time, crushing my gypsy/rover player-style. Think FOB.

When certain combat missions had their ore belts nerfed for no reason or explanation at all.

Considering that Outer Ring Excavation is null-sec only, yet a lot of their “customers” are in high-sec. Sisters of Eve and Thukker are both available to high-sec. Oh wait, that’s my play-style - no one cares move along.

Yet another opening thread from a “woe-is-me”, “why am I the only one nerfed” individual lacking a clue.

What is they say; can I have all your stuff and you know where the door is? Or something something “search function” something?

It died when the generation who believe awoxing was all about highsec joined eve. Given it was made a thing by low sec ganking, it’s still perfectly possible to do what awox did.

2004 or 2005 when they introduced caps, and removed my 8 heavy drones from the thorax

This is my main and am generally not dumb.

But for the OP. This game changes and evolves. You have to adapt. There’s a ton of different things to do. You can be good or evil. If someone cannot find something to do in this game then they aren’t looking very hard or the problem lies within them.

It hasn’t my playstyle has evolved and when I flew my first ship after installation from CD I was happy. I had to stay away from the game because I knew it was such an in depth game it would be possible to eat all my spare time to it , this game is awesome adapt your methods to suit what you enjoy doing gank build fight destroy just don’t waist your time enjoy it and if you lose a ship get over it even better build ten frigates and fit them and fly each against whatever until you can handle the loss of one . keep up the good wrk developers and players all and don’t sweat the little stuff adjust how you do your stuff and never ever give up

Shooting MTU’s and Mobile Depots is fun. Try that.

The reinforcement timer is too long

My playstyle is flying around saying “BOING BOING” in local. Hopefully they don’t kill my playstyle, because that would be sad.

Mine died when I was no longer tagged in Eve Online Pick-up Line tweets. :pensive:

I’m hoping it’s because it’s an Amarrian thing and I’m Minmatar but maybe I’m just an old maid now?

It’s safe to post here because no one actually reads the forums. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

There is no reinfocement timer on MTU’s, and reinforcing a depot gives you the suspect flag you want anyways.

It came quickly to an end for 99.9% of most 3rd party needs with Citadels
