Even if I play this game on and off for years I consider my self a very stupid noob that understand 5% of the whole games.
But I wonder ships like Rattlesnake, Vindicator, etc who are they for ? I mean ain´t for noob players not with the price class around 1.3-2.2 bill. It´s not for missions runners even if some of them have missions fits. I mean if a missions runner has 2+ bill to throw around he probably played long enough to get a Kronos or Golem which to my understanding is end all be all missions running even ratting ships.
So is these ships for pvp players with ■■■■ load of money to just throw at each other for luls ? Or are they for stupidly wealthy players that just like blingy ships ?
Don’t aim for high end content if you do this. I started focusing on AF-HAC level content a while back and find it far more fun than trying to grind into a 2b+ battleship. For me, wormholes are where it’s at.
No, they’re not for noob players, at least not ones without deep pockets. It’s not that terribly difficult to farm LP and make the isk while training up the skills to use these ships. The pirate battleships take 2 different battleship skills trained and Marauders require one battleship skill at 5, and those are just for the hulls and not counting the fits. Just sitting in one takes several weeks or months of dedicated training, and without support skills you’ll probably just lose it in 5 minutes.
They’re for people who have the skills, experience, and income to risk flying ships that make them a bigger target.
Remember the First Rule of Eve: Never undock in anything you can’t afford to lose.
Thanks for great response I feel I understand it better. I mean I have 38mill SP which is low but I have very very long breaks I had one that lasted 4 years. But I always seen these so called faction ships and look at the price tag and go nope not risking that for what carebear crap I do.
BTW Rattlesnake is the strongest ship Alpha toon can fly with a few reasons for this:
It is a pirate BS with very good base stats and strong bonuses
You can fit T2 rapid heavy launchers on it (which are the only T2 BS weapon for Alphas)
With properly trained skills I believe it can push 1200+ DPS on Alpha
With passive fit it becomes a 2-button ship with a shitton of EHP so gankers will not even bother shooting you most of the time
But main downside is that there is no Alpha-friendly content for a Rattle in high sec. If you live in “friendly” null though it turns into an anomaly wiping machine. So for players who don’t want to pay for Omega cause they play like once a week - this is a decent choice.
The smaller pirate hulls are quite worth their price tags. The Cynabal is awesome at ratting, the Succubus flys like a frigate, and there are many reasons the Gila is one of the most popular ships in the game.
Yeah I agree the smaller ones are rely worth it but the battleship price tag make me feel like just use T1 or T2 versions. Honestly I feel like yeah I fly a rattlesnake if I had 100billion in my wallet that I barely used. I started playing eve in 2007 I never once flown a snake or Vindi. I have tried the Mach.
Yeah I know reason why I hate Gila so much. I mean Gila is good for ratting and abyssal even can do L4. I Remember the game nagging me to get Omega and stating get omega now and fly 400+ ships.
What it should say get omega now and fly GILA only >.<
honestly im so damn sick of the gila i´m so sick of the raven and dominix my 2 characters is flying a Rokh and a Deimos when ever I do l4.
I did my L4s on a Cerb and a Nergal (for burners).
T3Cs are very nice advanced ships easily reachable for starting players and very good even in T2 fits.
1.4B Rattle seems like a lot, but again if you live in nullsec - it pays back in a few evenings easily. And with a bit blinged fit I think it can do some 8/10.
Here is the thing - when you spend 2-3 bil on smth like a Marauder and use it properly - it pays itself back really fast. When I lived in null I could afford to lose a 3.2b Golem every month and have enough money for Omega, new Golem and some money to spare on top. One 10/10 with good drop can give 1-1.5b in loot And I could do it in like 30-40 minutes. With luck my slightly expensive Golem could farm itself back in less than 2 hours. And then keep farming like that.
Yeah issue is last I used a Vargur I lost it just an hour after I got it most liely do to WH in system no one had clue about becuse they all came out of no where not even intel channel knew about them before I was dead. Sure I saw local get 5 new people but before timer was down so I could warp away they basically came out my butt.
So that Marauder did not pay for it self what so ever.
I shall never be trusted with expensive ships they only lose me isk making me go back to high and lick my wounds. Im a shitty eve player.
