My real name is Wendy, today ( October 23rd ) is my birthday. Before all the men, boys, and some girls start drooling over the concept of a female gamer. Let me state, I am married, with two sons, and a grand daughter. While both of my sons have Playstations and PC, only one is playing Eve Online. My other son is busy working in Germany. I have been active almost daily in Eve Online since summer of 2023. I also enjoy other social gaming communities.
I have prior experience with World of Warcraft but it got too boring. Guild Wars ( original game ) is still fun but they made the sequel and stopped adding new content for those still alive in the original. I played Rift, Champions, Star Trek Online, Guild Wars 2, Neverwinter D&D, and Black Desert.
My grand daughter asked me to cook up an anthem last month and post it on YouTube. Which I did. She was disappointed. You see I have all of Jon Bon Jovi’s albums… in fact, I bought them on audio cassette and then then CDs. Amber is more into hard rock and heavy metal. Her favorite band is Nightwish. I can appreciate just about all forms of music.
Today here is the new and improved anthem “No Mercy”.
Thank you for this, Wendy. It’s a lot of work, I know, so congratulations on presenting an entertaining and - which is rare - a truly finished project!
Just a quick question; what software did you use for your work? I’m interested in video, audio and …lip-sync!
@Analoreke_Brunette I wish! Every time someone says, Do you want to go eat at Wendy’s, I figure they mean my house. They still make the best square burgers in town.
@Sasha_Nemtsov the lip sync is an AI program online. This online AI takes about 5 minutes to create short 15 to 20 second clips. Free to use, you can remove the watermark for $10 a month. I found it works best with the face mostly toward the camera. All you need is a short clip of your music and the character’s photo to upload. I looked at a lot of AI programs and most are not worth the effort let alone what they ask for a fee. I tried one and was going to have them dance, the end product looked… well have you ever seen the 1986 horror move “The Fly”? It was just like the baboon scene.
I am off to have dinner, then ice creme and cake for desert!
Ya for real. I think it is best to believe everyone is a mid 30’s nerd, living in a basement, with last night’s Cheetos stuck in his beard. However, I know Wendy personally, this and other games. She can walk into bar and 10 minutes later, all the sailors come out crying and holding their ears.
Happy Birthday Wendy, I see you hit the big 95 today?
You’re not alone. In fact, there has been a much larger female player base than many may think. Gender matters little when exploding pixel spaceships. Though I must admit, it does give some satisfaction when you completely school a player and then get on coms with them and they realize…
…In fact, I have known many female players with bigger cajones than any male player. Just saying…
Thanks everyone! I had a wonderful time with my family and friends ( aka John ) who is either dyslexic or inverted my real age on purpose. I am 59 now, which means next year I will be 06 years old @John_Rochard ?
@Salartarium I agree you should never be that naive, but on the other hand, it wouldn’t take Sherlock Holmes to figure me out by a simple Google search. I don’t share too much. No more than what people can find by public means. If someone is crazy enough, they have no problem hunting you down with today’s tech. My grand daughter is more sophisticated and knowledgeable than I was at her age. I recall when the world news started, it meant it was time to be bored or go play with my kid sister. Some people will hide under a rock, others dance in the bonfires and get burned. I try to find a happy medium.
@Kaely_Tanniss I said the same thing about it when I played Guild Wars and later playing on Neverwinter. Many women (45% I read somewhere) play online games. I have 2 accounts here. My first is the 3 princesses of PRICE, the other is still a work in progress. They are 3 men who I plan to become pirates. I am an old school role-player from the 80’s. In the mid 80’s I met a wonderful Dungeon Master, so I married him.
@Analoreke_Brunette thank you!
