Who should I vote for?

I am an unapologetic carebear, I run Operation Magic School Bus that gives newbros fitted ships to get a decent start in the game. I have served 6 terms as a CSM and generally work at making the GAME better, not just one aspect of it.

That, of course, is slightly counter to some people philosophy so I m considered not worthy of inclusion on the list. I do endorse Oz, Ken, Kshal and several others. I would like to see a well balanced council elected in terms of different styles of gameplay. Not where folks live bu8t what they do there.

hope that clears it up some.

But do you actually play the game, or do you just scare newbies in the rookie channel with your avatar and then sometimes hand out a couple tech 1 frigs when CSM election rolls around?

Interesting politics happening in this forum.. Azariah is a centrist. Aiko is a Hardcore.

Fair question, I have been driving the Bus steadily for over a decade. This November will make it 11 years. Frigates for pilots 0-7 days old, Destroyers for 7-20, and Cruisers for 20-30 days old.

Lately the destroyers have been fits from the SOE channel so the pilots can do the Blood Stained Stars arc if they wish.

Maybe drop in Rookie Help chat, sometime. Ask them if the Bus is just a campaign stunt. (It is not)

When not driving the Bus or serving on the CSM I like to run abyssals, chase event sites, and a bit of exploration here and there.

Are you saying Aiko is poor and in dire need of handouts? Maybe that’s why she’s always begging for ISK donations?

Best way to scam in Eve is when they are happy giving you isks for free. Celebrity status really has its advantages.

So we have yet another new alt questioning the motives of someone who has a track record going back well over a decade?

Is this just a campaign by someone or some alliances to keep him out?

Jealousy maybe?

Or are some just pissed at him because they missed the bus going through their system?

It’s curious that there’s been so much aimed at him this time around, but even if this dark campaign works, we’ll still probably get the News Sport and Weather every week.

Maybe all of them.

Yeah, I know who you are and what you do. I just thought that there was a reason for being negative about the mentioned endorsement. Turns out - there isn’t one.

You have my vote.

The point of term limits is to ensure that other voices are heard, and it can often be desirable to hear from minority viewpoints, as the majority viewpoint is already well understood. Unfortunately, if the CSM only functions as a majoritarian political machine, it will not actually serve the purpose of helping CCP to understand obscure player viewpoints. It’s important to not let vanity and selfish pride guide your conduct, but instead to take actions that are for the good of the entire community, rather than just yourself or your own narrow interests. Do you actually have something to offer the CSM, or do you merely campaign because you feel entitled to do so? I sincerely hope that CCP takes action to stop treating the CSM as a political institution, and to therefore discourage those who seek to be on the CSM merely for status. Term limits would go a long way toward achieving that goal, by preventing political creatures from serving again and again and again, thereby allowing other players an opportunity to serve on the committee. Don’t you agree?

So based on the past CCP should ban all nullsec candidates (including future ones) for 15+ years at least.

 :psycsm:

CSM has term limits, just not the type you are asking for. No player can serve more than 3 consecutive terms IS a term limit. I did not see the call for this when a nullsec candidate ran for his 6th term so I think what you want is Hisec players to be limited in their representation, namely me.

I doubt you watched my interview with Kshal but in it we also discussed term limits. By counter proposal was that Alliances face the same limits as players do currently so other smaller Alliances could get a word in edgewise. After all, someone you respect said . . .

so, do you think that there should be alliance term limits?

Of course, I’m aware.

It’s not “namely” you - but you are an example, yes. Like what are you doing? Why? I honestly don’t understand.

I have no objection to alliance term limits. The point of the CSM is to stimulate discussion, and the reality is having the same people and the same groups, again and again, is not something which stimulates meaningful dialogue. That’s how you generate groupthink, but it’s not how you stimulate development. Far too many players see the CSM as an election, where they campaign for or against various proposals, and that undermines its utility as a discussion group. I think we would be better served if CCP were to randomly select individuals, or do so in a way which ensured that smaller groups and communities are better represented. Of course, I think that term limits should also be applied in order to ensure diversity.

The largest groups need the least representation. They already have alliance infrastructure and communications. They have CCP employees in their alliance. It’s the smaller niche groups which should be on the CSM. CCP could put the larger groups on a rotation, like this year someone from Goons, next year someone from PanFam. We don’t need three people from the same alliance, that’s honestly kind of silly. So yes, I support alliance term limits. 100%.

vote me

What do you mean by Alliance? Is this something related to CSM and not a group of corporations?

Nope, I mean the corp groups.

I don’t think it’s fair to equate CSM term limits to in game leadership. The two are not related.

It’s really time you stood for CSM.

I like to think of myself as the permanent chair of the CSM.
