Why antigank?

They are defenseless? More like they are helpless.

:smirk:

You are welcome to disagree with me, Thork.

I made two points; one was that a properly fitted ship piloted by an astute and knowledgeable player of the game, will usually survive a gank attempt.

The second point disproves your assertion that a miner/barge is ‘defenceless’. Combat Drones deal damage - quite a lot of damage, if skills are sufficiently high.

I accept that you disagree with me, Thork, but, in the interests of having a discussion/debate, I would appreciate a rebuttal which consisted of something more convincing than ‘I don’t think so’.

@Sasha_Nemtsov Yeah but I really don’t think so.

I find it odd that miners multibox but do not include in their inventory of rock-gobbling alts at least one character whose presence in their chosen asteroid belt might act as a deterrent to the Ghastly Ganker; to wit, a jammer/damage-dealer. Investment in such a character would profit the miner in hours of peaceful chomping. No?

Wouldn’t that require them to be at the keyboard to counteract any gank attempt with said character?

It is disappointing, Thork, that you choose not to address the points I made. Thankfully, others are able to see them and to make of them - and your responses - what they will.

@Sasha_Nemtsov You know, I really and vehemently don’t think so.

We. Appreciate the day that Princess
Aiko allowed Frostpacker to scoop up her frozen chicken.

Nope…it even has ‘Defense’ right next to EHP in the fittings…

Not my fault that CCP doesn’t know the difference between Defense and Protection.

We put armor and use shields for Protection.
We use swords, axes and maces for Attack and Defense.

We buy guns for self-defense

We put bars on windows for Protection

I watched a fascinating video where a multiboxer with two alts uses stasis webifier to enable their Rorqual to insta-warp. A fascinating little trick. Two webifiers effectively reduce the max speed of the Rorqal by 80%…but that in turn reduces the speed needed for warp by 80%.

If you’d been on this forum any length of time you’d know that appeal to some self-contrived dictionary is probably the most common logical fallacy here…

.

If that is your way of saying that I am right then I will accept it.

Well the beauty is that these things get decided in-game…where no amount of forum waffle can rescue people.

“Forum waffle” – I like that, very good.

Another dish to the Forum menu right next to the nothingburger and Frostpacker wordsalad.

Nobody cares about your ships

No you don’t , you’re a miner

He cares about his ships. Though not 100% sure. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Well nodoubt he struts around 1.0 in his tanked skiff saying “Come gank me , Im a badass”

I learned all manner of anti-gank tricks while mining in a humble Venture. Insta-warp from station to my mining location. The mining location itself being the furthest belt from both the only two entrances to the system. A host of bookmarks at the asteroid belt…all of them on the other side of the belt from the belt landing point. Not letting any ‘friendly’ mining ship get too close. And…always paying attention and not watching Netflix.

As I’m currently recovering from covid and don’t feel up to suspect hunting or big AO battles…i may just go ‘chill out’ in an asteroid belt somewhere.
