Why Are Navy Scan Modules Missing from the Market?

Dev Oversight or Intentional Gating?

Are the Navy Scan Pinpointing Array, Navy Scan Rangefinding Array, and Navy Scan Acquisition Array intentionally excluded from the market, or is this an oversight?

Players can’t trade them. You can’t buy or sell them. These are faction variants that would clearly enhance scanning gameplay, but they’re locked out.

Why?

This is the kind of thing that frustrates dedicated explorers and scanners. If this is a balancing decision, say so. If it’s a bug or oversight, fix it.

Let’s get some eyes on this. Devs, talk to us.

Edit: Screenshot added from Jita—market has buy orders for all three Navy scan modules, but no sell orders. Not even contracts. These items are clearly implemented, but unavailable to players.

Looks like nobody gets them from LP stores to put on market

As of May 2025, the Navy Scan Pinpointing Array, along with the Navy Scan Rangefinding Array and Navy Scan Acquisition Array, are not available for purchase through any Loyalty Point (LP) store in EVE Online. Despite being listed in the market browser, these modules lack active sell orders, even in major trade hubs like Jita. They also do not appear to be obtainable through LP stores, mission rewards, or exploration site drops.

Is your chatgpt referring to it’s own (this) thread?

I’m confused.

Also that link your chatgpt added refers to a decade-old unrelated update that happened to have ‘navy’ in the title.

Please don’t spam chatgpt output on the forums, especially not if you don’t check for and fix it’s mistakes, because now you’re bothering readers with the hallucinations.

Lazy chatgpt posts are worse than lazy regular posts because they seem sensical and helpful at first glance, but your last post only adds confusion for readers.

On topic it looks like this time CCP added the new items to the market (which they sometimes forget, like with the drifter ouufits recently) but then forgot to source the items in LP stores.

Has anyone seen these items for sale in LP stores yet?

You’re not good at this. They came with some patch and aren’t seeded yet. They’re worse than Tech 2 so their main source will be Alpha Heron wrecks I assume.

Alternatively, given their name, the most likely source will be Faction Warfare LP stores, once Legion releases in two weeks.

Yes, CCP has mentioned the Navy Scan Rangefinding Array module in their patch notes. Specifically, in the patch notes for version 22.02, dated March 12, 2025, they noted that the module now has a variations tab.

However, this update pertains to a user interface fix rather than providing information about the module’s availability or sourcing. There doesn’t appear to be any mention in the patch notes regarding how players can acquire these modules, such as through LP stores or other in-game sources.

This lack of detailed information has led to confusion within the player community, as the modules are present in the game but without clear guidance on how to obtain them.

Resource Wars rewards are still in the game too.. and you can’t even do the sites.

CCP is just lazy. But hey, at least they have another massive embarrassing failure in the wings they spent money and time on.

sorry, I apologize.. I meant TWO massive embarrassing failures waiting in the wings.

I get the frustration—stuff like the lingering Resource Wars rewards and event imbalances make it feel like CCP has a habit of half-implementing features and walking away. But I’m not here to dunk on them for the sake of it.

I want this game to thrive, not just coast on its legacy. That’s why I’m calling out problems like the Capsuleer Day scarcity—because if no one speaks up, nothing gets fixed. The goal isn’t to tally CCP’s failures like it’s a scoreboard; it’s to push for systems that actually respect player time and effort, regardless of skill level or wallet size.

We’ve seen EVE do events right before. I’d rather we push for more of that than just write everything off as another “massive failure in the wings.”
