For legacy reasons. You have to use the Freight Containers in the freighters, not Standard Containers or Secure Containers.
I guess it avoids incentivizing players to go through the pain of filling hundreds of small magical ‘30% bigger on the inside than on the outside’ containers as optimal gameplay to carry larger volumes, which I think is a healthy choice.
Let’s assume freighters are already fully optimized for storing cargo and cannot benefit from this mechanic.
Some of the non-magical containers could be nice though to allow players to keep cargo structured. Are none of the containers allowed?
So its bad code? I did notice that the same container will go into other ship cargo but just simply not the freighter. eventually im going to test all the containers and report the findings here.
TO be clear… the same assembled container should simply fit in any cargohold that has enough size for it. This container i am speaking of is not following the rules lol. more data soon.
The container code seems somewhat convoluted.
If you put fitted ships or filled containers in courier contracts and then try to recontract them it also breaks.
I don’t know all the specifics, but I suspect no-one does.
