If Killrights in their current iteration are perfectly ok, then ganking is perfectly ok, right?
Killrights can be used by anyone, even and probably especially by those not involved in the situation in any way, shape or form, and lasts an entire month.
Miners can be killed by anyone, even and probably especially people not involved in the mining itself. However, a gank does not last an entire month.
Mining ships have an upper limit of cost, without needing to leave highsec. Non-Miner ships have a much higher cieling, making the potential losses far more costly.
You support this glaring lack of balance?

A “ganking” is not the same as a kill right.
A “ganking” is essentially a free radical until it is conducted upon a target, which can be any other ship. It is a choice to target a specific player.
A kill right is not the same, as it is tied to a specific player and only exists as a result of the action explained above. Without the “ganking” the kill right cannot exist.
If you fire the first shot, you start the war, and earn all of your consequences in that moment, which you deserve, regardless of their scope.
