No.
YOu have to tackle the target so the target doesn’t escape.
But in Gurista space, if you tackle the target, you get mass jammed by the rats…and the target escapes (you lose your point/scram when you get jammed).

You didn’t even reach the the most insulting stage:
Imagine you fit that DANK active armor tank to survive the rat barrage while you bloom your sig radius with MWD to beeline at the Ishtars 100km away.
You finally make it to the Ishtar, you scram him.
Guristas now switch EVERYTHING to you because you used EWAR (scram).
You get mass target jammed (ecm) by the rats. You lose point. The Ishtar warps out.
OR (if the Ishtar doesn’t warp out).
Your vamps on the Ishtar turn off because you got jammed…your cap starts to drain fast as you overheat your armor repper…the Ishtar pilot doesn’t even care and continues to kill the Gurista rats while you tank for him.
You become unjammed for a single cycle…you overheat your rack to kill the Ishtar…but he hits his ADCU…next cycle you get perma jammed again…you have no cap…your tank is going to fail your guns are half burnt. The Ishtar CAN kill you at this moment, but the Ishtar is a bot so he doesn’t even recognize you.
You’re forced to warp off. You come back and try three more times to kill the Ishtar bot…same result each time.
Jerry Falcone has an empty killboard and doesn’t play the game. He is most likely one of the Farmlords of Gurista space botting up a storm. Seeing that he has zero kills, he doesn’t PvP, and seeing he has zero deaths, his bot has perfect coding to avoid being ganked via Local/Gurista jam protection.
As you can see all the contrary responses to my OP have all been pro-bot themed (read every response in this thread and imagine the affect it would have on their gurista ratting bots).
The fact there’s even this many people triggered over me pointing out a pro-bot mechanic shows you I struck a nerve in the gurista botting community.

Yes, I agree. There’s been some very strange responses in this thread. Normal gamers don’t defend broken mechanics.
Tbh it’s what guristas always did… Before and after the agro changes back in the day. Nowadays it’s just harder to deal with it since they’ll change to a random target instead of being focussed on the first person that they locked up on
If you read the thread, watched videos, read the reddit links, dev notes, etc, you’d know it’s not random.
Using ewar (scram) generates 100% aggro from the entire site. You will get jammed the moment you tackle (and therefore lose tackle).
Also your post sounds like “it’s always been this, it’s ok for bots to have special protection in gurista space, leave my bot logic alone! My bot logic knows it’s safe with 1 or 2 neuts in local in gurista space, I wouldn’t have to program it to dock up when a single neut appears in local…like in other spaces!”
Doesn’t EVE already have WOW aggro mechanics? Have a designated tank ship use a scram on a rat to aggro them.
After reviewing the thread, I’ve determined that there isn’t an productive discussion going on, and I will be closing it. Thank you.
