Why does CCP still charge 15 bux for 30 days?

The game doesn’t lack a decent population. Less players than it’s had in the past =/= not enough players to survive.

I can agree to pay 15$/month if i knew they were developping a new EvE.

This one is still going strong, and many players are still greatly invested in it. If they were to make a new one, there’d have to be some guarantee that long-term player investment would be recognised in the new one, if not carried over in its entirety.

People are fine with change. The RIGHT kind of change that keeps EVE true to its single-server PVP player-driven nature. People oppose the WRONG kind of change that takes the game in a hand-holding theme-park adventure direction.

And it’s the same with players. People aren’t against the game getting more players, they’re against the WRONG KIND of players. Players who think the game needs to be just like every other MMO they’ve played, instead of the unique game that EVE is. The thinking here is wrong - EVE sets the benchmark for open world free-choice sandbox PVP games. EVE isn’t a follower, it’s a leader. EVE doesn’t do what other games do, other games should do what EVE does.

No one’s scared of change, we’re just concerned with the wrong kind of change, and how that affects our very long term investment in the game. You don’t get to just dismiss that with such derision, as if your five minutes playing for free counts for something. If the game is too expensive for you, go back to Scam Citizen and see if anyone cares.

Aha everything that i expected from this forum… but well, i get what i deserve commenting here.
step 1: there is no problem
step 2: we are fine, EvE is the perfect place to be
step 3: you are the problem
step 4: we are ok with some change… if it goes in our direction
step 5: ■■■■ on star citizen
step 6: go play something else, don’t dare talking about my dream game

You can ignore or misrepresent the points I’ve made all you like, nothing you just posted is a refutation of them.

I do not ignore them.

Its just something that i read on a weekly basis in the forums, or in reddit.

I’ve agreed that i can’t agree with that mindset a while ago.

but hey if the game perfectly suits you its totally awesome !

Your agreement with facts isn’t required for them to be facts.

I do not consider it as “facts”.
Facts are followed with numbers, or proofs. your whole statement is made of your beliefs.
“people are fine with change”
“Eve is a leader”
“Go back to SC and see if anyone cares”

You lost your whole credibility there

So… Much… Straw…

Flat earther’s don’t consider gravity as a fact, either. Again, your consideration is irrelevant. I have the numbers and I’ve been playing it for long enough to see and understand the trends in the game. The facts are self-evident.

To be honest, losing credibility with someone who has none really doesn’t bother me. The sky isn’t falling, EVE isn’t dying, and SC is a scam.

well ok. because you said so.

I am a casual alpha (sign in rarely and usually only play short sessions) yet hang around here often (only have omega which I’ve :credit_card: plexed with in-game “earnings” to fully train the expanded alpha skillset and aside of until that is done I only use the salvage drones from the omega related stuff I only use the alpha stuff and will not extend my omega once the training is done).

My main is @Marcusson_en_Chasteaux you can read his bio what I do and why I don’t sub and also have a thief alt in Jita who I play on often and of course as you can see on this CEO alt I also organize giveaways and write guides and run a tax avoidance / character parking corp for those who need such.

You can check my screenshots here if interested:

So yeah there are people like me who are active and perfectly fine with being alpha and have fun nevertheless still, despite could afford to go omega but it is absolutely not needed for what I do and enjoy.

Your upset that ccp charges about the price for a fast food meal for access to up to 690 hours of gameplay a month?

In a time where you pay 10 bucks for a 2 hour movie?

If anything the price should have increased overtime for cost of living, inflation, etc.

The quality, road map, vision, finances, stability of Eve has DRASTICALLY gone DOWNHILL over past 25 years

Yes inflation and milk and movie ticket prices increase,

Yet EVE IS GETTING WORSE.

ITS LIKE A HOUSE THAT IS FALLING APART. AT SOME POINT IT BECOMES WORTH LESS THAN IT WAS BEFORE.

EVE IS DYING

it was just a joke, I play both SC and eve and have found in both communities there are toxic people (not talking about you) and there are also nice people, claiming SC’s fans are all toxic cultists is like saying everyone you meet in eve is a toxic person who wants nothing other than to blow you up (like I have seen on some steam reviews for this game) but if you don’t go around acting like a douche then you can meet a lot of nice people in eve and SC, again I’m not calling you out in particular or saying you are acting toxic.

TL;DR
both eve and SC have their fair share of toxic fanboys but they both have a lot of kind people

Eve is free if you have a sliver of brain left. Not hard at all to make the whales pay for your sub.

And if thats how you feel you are welcome to take your $15 a month elsewhere. Thats the joys of capitalism. If enough people agree with you CCP will either change its ways or go under and new businesses will arise that hopefully better meet your needs.

That being said eve is pretty much the only successful full loot ffa pvp game since UO thats still around. Id support it if I were you personally as the chances of getting another good one are damn near 0.

Albion online was the last attempt and oh man was it a mess.

EVE has been running 25 years, really??

Allllllllrightythen!

Actually it is dead and is such since 1988 so she is not that far off.

Nope your correct I’m quite toxic especially after a night out, but the fire from my Scourge fury missiles cleanse my soul. Leaving me free to criticize Star Citizen on a daily basis, it then leaves me feeling toxic which I then have to fire another barrage of tech 2 missiles. Which in turn centres my equilibrium, fly well dear friend and fly safe. o7
