They’ve clarified that the Dust gearing system won’t be making a return, as it made little sense that an assault rifle would cost more than a whole battleship. The system they’re planning to introduce is that vanguards produce some sort of resource EVE players can make use of, and EVE players in turn can supply the dustbunnies, but it will happen without a direct market connection between the two.

One, its a meme, anna. A meme that achieved something of legendary status in the dust community
and two, no an assault rifle never cost more than a whole battleship. The most expensive proto-gear rifle only cost, at most, 80k DUST Isk and I’m getting real tired of the continued line about ‘it was absurd the cost if weapons an AR shouldn’t cost more than a battleship’ BECAUSE THEY NEVER DID
And I and others told FC Collins and the London Team as much, and I’m kinda getting pissed now that the offhand uninformed remark by FC Collins is now being taken as gospel
We have the hard numbers still for the weapon costs for cryin’ out loud. People archived them.

admittedly, things got a bit weird with ‘experimental’ and ‘officer’ tier gear, but even then while those could hit some ludicrous private transfer costs, they still weren’t… well… battleship cost
