Why is it so easy to recover bad security status. Endless suicide ganking in high sec with 0 penalty

I joined the Gankers for a couple of months, after my first loss to one of them, and learned how they hunt. Best thing I ever learned in this game. Not only did it make me virtually immune to them, but it really showed me how disgustingly little effort carebears put into this game. They spend more time on the forums trying to get all risk removed from the game than learning to mitigate the small amount of risk in this game.

If thinking that helps you sleep at night, you go right ahead. I’ve done your playstyle, and personally think it’s the slimiest, most garbage way to play the game, so I don’t do it anymore.

They head to nullsec, where there are better ores, and you receive intel reports of neuts coming five systems out.

Recovering from any loss is also extremely easy. As is avoiding such losses. So where is ‘the problem’?

Don’t get me wrong, I do believe the whole ganking mechanic is badly designed, too much focused on massmultiboxing and a pure repetitive numbers game… but to correct that, HS would need a complete overhaul.

You know what fixes ganking? Not being a useless carebear.

In any PvP game, the low hanging fruit is going to get picked first, and for the most part, you’re less challenging than NPCs. At least NPCs have a reason for making the same mistakes over and over and over again.

CCP did a presentation one fanfest that showed a whole village worth of people try the game every month, with over 90% not lasting the first 30 days. They also did a ‘study’ that showed ganking improved player interaction, though it has been pointed out it had a massive problem of survivor bias that was never addressed.

That is like saying to someone to avoid drowning to step into the sun.

Without consequence this option is completely lacking in meaning. Even when bounties were still not ‘temporarily disabled’ someone who successfully completed a killright only got a portion of the bounty based on the ship, even if the bounty was worth magnitudes more.

CCP has a history of decisions that impact the bottom line. Summer of Rage resulting in layoffs. Blackout, mass drop of subscriptions. Only recently there was news that CCP is on the market again for significantly less than its last purchase price.

Complaining does change things. R&K and the infinite Gun? Certain large alliances are very effective at complaining ( Goons and the Drifter Invasion in their home systems? ) although some seemingly simple issues ( the red dot ) with persistent prompting eventually get an option to turn them off.

Wars are an excellent example of this. CSM Brisc Rubal asked CCP to look into the numbers, it was a 100 to 1 loss ratio in favour to those declaring the war, with only 5 alliances responsible for over %50 of the wars.

Instant removal of wars, which are now also completely avoidable.

They are shills for the status quo.

Of all the changes that might upset the economy, making the transit of goods from or to high sec destinations safer would not cause a fraction of the damage that occurred as a result of the introduction of on grid Rorqual mining.

Its hard to see how there are consequences or even a small amount of accountability when these degenerates can just use ISK to buy security status tokens to avoid both.

That might be an option, if the map had not been adjusted based of events in Serenity as part of the creation of Pochven.

Those 12 starter systems would be camped as harder than the low security asset safety systems.

Its also important to get your input broadcasting marco’s set up correctly.

So its ok this person keeps doing bad things and their security status has not dropped to the point where there is consequence? Sounds like an argument the current system is not working.

Must have a lot of bookmarks off gates and an align time that would make a gyroscope envious.

CCP keeps changing the wrong side of the equation. Its nothing to do with EHP or cargo density, its rich players leveraging their wealth to buy security tokens to engage in the abuse of a legal game mechanic.

Every time an EVE client gets window focus, there is a random delay before a command can be issued. Not a problem for solo players, bad news for mass multiboxers.

Its not about how low the fruit hangs, it about the win/loss ratio and the profit in the aggregate. When only one side gets to decide when to pull the trigger, its hardly going to be in the other person’s favour?

Then how come CCP hasn’t yet taken Ganking out of the game? How long have players been complaining on the forum, 20 years?

There is no issue for using an Alt to scout, use a different gate or play another character until gankers fly away.

And sometimes we simply have to acknowledge that it isn’t time for something and to not do it at all.
