Why is the in-game economy so broken?

Only if they come from daily login rewards. :smirk:

I think this was sarcasm.

I dont think games have an artistic component more than anything else. For example a bottle of Coca Cola has a unique shape, a good taste, its art and thats why among other things its so succesful. The problem is when companies try to force the artistic component. People can tell and it usually isnt a big success.

Another user on the forum put it brilliantly. People come to EVE online to sun bathe. Thats why they play games in general. The piracy element is just a dream or fantasy. Its part of the story. But most people dont want to deal with it they just like to know that its out there somewhere. But CCP has decided it should be everywhere, to their own detriment. The sun bathers are going leave. And so will the pirates. Which is ironic. But lets see. I have been wrong before.

I did not make, and did not intend to make, a comparison between video games and other products.

I agree with the first part : it’s just a game, our feeelings are only in our head.

However for the later : define “deal with”.
Most people cope with it, anyhow they have no choice in the matter.

The opposite. Removing concord(for example, by removing red safety in HS) would actually kill the game. It would make the value of HS minerals so close to zero that people would have nothing to do in HS.
Full-pvp is actually an answer to the MMO issue of inflation.

Thx, though I was aware, his sarcastic post was in reference to the opportunity cost that such people ignore who claim the ore they mine are free and such. My post was just cracking a joke that it is actually true but only in case of the login rewards as they take no time investment nor effort and cost nothing.

So you actually meant “They are, when obtained through dailies” ?

Don’t see the difference.

Yours is claiming you are correcting something wrong, that the poster did not know. Mine is adding a precision about when this is not wrong, while still acknowledging the joke (it corrects that they are not, which is the actual meaning of the sarcasm)

I told you it was a sarcasm, because you did not acknowledge it as such in your answer.

Don’t see how my post means that even if taken literally and completely ignoring the obvious detail that it is just a joke.

Edit: But anyhow this discussion about semantics is completely offtopic and derailing / disrupting the thread for no reason so no reason to continue it, especially as I’m sure most people will understand that post anyway.

Its not obvious(that you got the joke), since you didn’t answer the intended meaning but the literal one.

It’s not a joke, since you are right in that BPC from dailies are free.

What IS obvious is the difference between your phrasing and mine, though.

Withdrawn.

Why are you claiming he is a fence ? That is rude.

Lvl 4 mission go brrrrrrrrrrr

You didn’t say I was wrong.

This sums up Frostpacker on so many levels!

Outstanding performance and observation there Pilot!

:face_in_clouds:

There’s always another way.

I am having doubts that any meaningful conversation on the Eve Forums will bring actual change.
We are questioning their profit margins which in my opinion could be fixed through removal of the Store market.

Please be advised that Frostpacker had just paid its shareholders.

Meeting was held today and those shareholders who attended received a bonus.

Thank you that is all!

Scamming got a bit worse, you can make cuirier contracts to corrupted systems and gank the person that accepted it when he arrives and collect the items that drop + the collateral? Gotta be careful out there.

I hope CCP realises they need to improve PVE and peaceful play more than anything. But they wont sadly. And they have a few people on the forum who post often and act like CCP is doing all the right things and those are who CCP choose to believe. But they dont speak for the players, they speak for CCP. For some reason no-one seems to be speaking for the players, not even the CSM.

I don’t. We’re not here to influence anything. It’s clear that CCP will do what they think has to be done regardless.
We’re just here to discuss, shoot the sh!t. Maybe sell or buy a character, nothing more.
