Why is there a mining crystal for every type in space?

Just curious why is there a mining crystal for every type of asteroid in space?
will this change in the new update?
why is this even a thing?

This will change with the new update.

Made sense at the time. Depending on sp invested one could opt to improve the refining yield of each ore.

But be happy, if you don’t like choice. From today’s update onwards you’ll have less choice.

And in a few years you will only have two types: Regular mining crystal (aka the pleb one) and the Golden mining crystal (aka the Premium / VIP / RL CA$H shop / #nopoors one) :no_mouth:

Because it makes sense.

But its being changed to Fisher Price mode to help krabs complain about a thing that benefits them.
