Why newbies don't stay

Sorry, but no guidance, SP, or “choices” will compensate ignorance.

I don’t believe you are serious about this. I demand a proof. You choose, impress me.

I am still wondering if you really meant that you had a titan on that character.

I stayed but am not part of the 1%, billionaire yes, 1% no, the secret of my success is simply skilling up and using those skills to build and sale, most of my income is from this activity.

It takes time but once you cross a threshold in whatever direction you go you’ll know that your income will grow at a certain level over time.

Ok. CCP have statistics how many players do not hook up after first week of playing. Do they have data why they left after a week? I was send questionnarie when I unistalled a game some time ago with questions why I left.

Back when I started were carrer agent missions. They were learning basics about activities like combat, exploration etc. We have ship tree feature now that shows us what types of modules hulls are primarly using. Last but not least new agency show all you can do here. It’s really easier now.

Hey fellows, I am new. I played for a month around the start of 2019.

You may think people are too casual, but its more about the game respecting the player and the player’s time. E.g pve being a very tedious grind, and the fact that bots do menial stuff like ratting and mining make it even more pointless. Requiring multi box for simple needs like comparing prices in other regions.
Also no auto travel (optimal travel) and no auto market update just seem like its there to waste my time.

There’s just so much competing for my attention these days, why would I speculate on some mediocre pvp which EVE doesn’t even reward (negative EV compared to trading), when I can play chess, street fighter, quake, Dota etc and get interesting gameplay straight away? (And they do it for cheaper too). Not to mention how the internet has opened up avenues into real life interests and hobbies.

I’m interested in why you guys play this game. What does it give you that you can’t get anywhere else faster and for less cost.

Wrong! Sandbox means box filled with sand for childeren to play in.

Which is inherently a very restricted space where you can only build certain things, dig only so deep and cannot leave the boundrys of the sand box. Sounds pretty much like what Kilon said.

And even in that very restricted space people are overwhelmed and CCP now wants to overwhelm them even more with free SP that they do not know how to spent after they wasted 5 additional RL currency on CCP’s game.

No, it didn’t.

A change from the on-rails themeparks and twitchy games with crazy key combos.

There are two ways of looking at a sandbox

  1. it is a space where children can freely play
  2. it is a space where you can keep the children safe from the outside (and the outside safe from the children)

Take your pick.

You lost a Titan?

You missed the 3rd option:

The outside dictates what the inside can do. Outside in this case can be null sec blobs that dictate what the inside (new contenders for a sov system or low sec area or even just a passerby) can do by exerting overwhelming force onto them.

I choose Option 3 because that is what really happens. Your options are naive and inaccurate.

You are certain it was a Titan. As in, an Avatar, or a Leviathan, or an Erebus, or a Ragnarok.
