You are a toxic troll who agitates for the status quo, nothing more.
That was not the assertion, its pure narcissism to assume yourself to be the subject protagonist.
They still are, now a little less so. Though what really seems to offend the most vociferous objectors is not ‘how much’ of the the territory will operate in a never before experienced level of safety, but that any safe territory exists at all.
It is not about being wrong or right, its about balance. The creation of this new area is at odds with previous statements and ‘data’ by CCP staff that supported ganking as having a positive impact on the player experience. Either this data was wrong, the data has changed, or ( more likely ) the player base has acted in a way to raise sufficient concern that without action, the current situation is unsustainable for the game to maintain a critical mass of new players to replace those who depart.
Its the dichotomy that two things can be seen as true at the same time, depending on one’s point of view.
That does not refute the assertion. Find text where CCP specifies that PvP is the ONLY core element and get back to us with a quote, or wipe the froth from your mouth and sit down.
The quoted text is an example of individuals who behave like they are entitled to keep the game and its mechanics in a reductive and unsustainable state.
Please, that phrase is a dog whistle by any other name.
Believe whatever gives the greatest comfort. This change is not happening because of some simple forum posting.
Exodium is certainly not an L, though if people were a little more constructive and cooperative it would not have been necessary.
Partially. What really helps is the ability to control the entirety of space, high security space and low security space are problematic because NPC stations are unassailable so the ‘enemy’ can always have extremely pervasive eyes.
The most safe systems in Null used to be the ones with only POS. All it would take is for CCP to alter citadels so that people who are on the deny ACL cannot see local while docked, it would nearly be right back there.
Elaborate on how this update will correct it? Either new people are going to go into the new area and say ‘oh wow, EVE is a nice place to be, I heard it was full of mean gankers’ or at best it will be ‘I was in this safe area, then when I left with my very first ship filled with all my stuff I got turbo blapped before I could even travel to the next gate’ ?
Logistically, if the ores are the same m^3 as the larger types, it would also be a negative factor on trade, as who would want to fill a freighter full of ore that has only a fraction of the yield as regular ore that takes just as long to mine?
Ask any industrialist who started before scarcity era how big their trit and pyrite piles are. I literally have millions of units that I will never use that are not worth the cost of moving. Whatever ‘value’ these items are, its only indicative of their transit costs, vs contribution to construction of most items.
Think less about the value and more about the principle. By mining in Exodium and not elsewhere, it says ‘Dear CCP, I do not want to play in the areas with the current Risk vs Reward’ in the same way that people decided to simply play other games during blackout, than put up with the disaster that was ‘delayed local’ that the same PvP above all else crowd clamored for until they realized they were not in a position to dictate the terms in which people engage with the game.
Remove security tags, no more using ISK to pay for security status. Convert them all to regular NPC loot like blue/red and overseer effects or LP rewards.
Indeed, its quite a sore point.
Maybe CCP should stop posting so much content in discord and reddit when there is a dedicated forum and they have had months to prepare statements.
That is where you and I differ. The value is the people, not the resources. If they are not worth the capacitor, I will gladly take those opportunities you neglect.
Its not about the ISK/m^3, its that some people feel there is something wrong with a miner who had a great time playing the game without first having bough a permit.
This is what they are truly afraid of. What if people do like having an area where they are not constantly in fear of being harassed by a trio of bored vets flying catalyst alts who just go around blowing up everything they ever worked for at the cost of 20 minutes of hacking relic sites or super ratting, at most?
Since the last banwave Udema has been a little more quiet, one can only hope this trend continues.
