Alphas was the Pandora’s opening.
Exordium is to make sure that box remains open indefinitely.
At least until the main pvp crowd is completely driven off.

Wait until they start talking of turning major Highsec hub/bottleneck systems (ofc the ones where the most ganking occurs) into Exordium space, until they swallow most, if not all of highsec and all you’re left with to pvp in is a dead low/null/Jsec space.
This is what they did to Ultima.
Granted Ultima Online as an official game still exists, but it’s 100% safe and consensual.
Good luck alienating paying customers. IP blocking hasn’t worked in decades as most , in the U.S. at least, don’t have a static IP, they have a dynamic IP. Which means your IP changes after a number of days or with each reboot. You IP ban a customer, he pulls another IP while another customer who just got unlucky enough to get your now-banned IP can’t connect.
Yes, but actual IP bans aren’t really used anymore either. They use “device fingerprinting” and other more advanced forms of tracking.
As I have said many times before, if they had a way to stop it, they’ve had 10 years to do so. The fact that there are thousands of bans every month proves they can’t stop it, they can only ban after the fact, IF they get caught.
Doesn’t matter. FC has one year left at best. They posted a $28.8m loss last year and have a $50m loan due this October. Revenues were $65m last year, so you do the math.
I hope everyone is hyped for Frontier or Vanguard, because FC literally lives or dies on them.
Then FC is toast.
44% net loss on annual revenues that were the highest since the pandemic. And that’s before the $52.5m is due in October and any operating losses for 2026. When are Frontier and Vanguard out again?
I see a massive PLEX sale on the horizon…
Yeah…it will just be refinanced. Loss is expected when you are making 2 games. To say that there only a year left is being a bit dramatic. Not to mention that Google paid into Frontier, PA accepted Frontier currency as payment, and that Frontier was initially invested by another group.
No, I don’t think it’s overly dramatic.
I guess you know more than several companies and financial professionals then. ![]()
Most likely because they knew CCP weren’t going to be able to pay full price anyway. The most rational option was “let’s take what we can get” even though Frontier crypto is and will remain worthless, because the alternative was being unable to sell off CCP and being forced to gut it and hand EVE and the New Eden IP off to another studio, a not very appealing gamble.
That’s a bit of a stretch…
So? I don’t see much ganking of veldspar miners in 1.0 or 0.9 systems right now so why do you care?
Yeah… I don’t see a single instance of you going after miners in 0.8, 0.9, or 1.0 so this will be no different for you. It won’t affect you at all. If 1.0 is safe from you now, why do you care about Exortium being safe from you?
No, it’s called spending $20 on PLEX and selling it for 2.5 to 3 billion ISK. WAY cheaper, easier, and faster than boxing 40 Alphas on 2 massive computers just to mine Veldspar on 40 different Virtual Machines.
That much money and trouble vs. dumping $500 on PLEX? Any smart man would opt to do PLEX.
There are a lot of multiboxing setups that defy the imagination (in terms of the expense one had to outlay for the requisite hardware and software to achieve this). To each their own.
Presumably the goal of the 40-wide alpha botting operation you described is to “make isk” not to “be safe”, so if you can be only 99% safe while getting, at the absolute barest minimum, double the value over time, that’s what you’re going to do. Reality is that “safety” is not part of the calculus for venture or pioneer mining (nor even, really, for T1 barges).
I have my reservations about Exordium but this entire conceit is extremely silly. Who is this imaginary person who is serious enough about the game to spin up 40 VMs to cheat at it, it but is also so ridiculously unambitious that they aspire only to mine half-value ore in ventures?
The amount of logic lost over ludicrous assumptions in this thread would fill multiple dump trucks.
IT WAS ME, JOHN 40ALPHAVENTURE
YOU’VE GOT ME RED HANDED!
DAMN YOU KIDS AND YOUR STUPID DOG
EVE Online is basically “Dont make that torture matrix hellscape 9000” oops “We made the torture matrix hellscape 9000 the game.” to bring together all of human suffering.
You could honestly put eve players behind a typewriter like a bunch of caged monkey as we’d be more efficient than any LLM AI for giving a response to a prompt.
