I can’t remember who said it best: horde.
And I was stupid enough to waste it on new players who showed promise… ![]()
We’ve all done that to some extent. It is what it is… now I horde for when it’s in-vogue again.
Great story, seriously.
That’s Eve working as intended.
I hope you’re not comparing that to losing a Badger in HS to shankers.
Learn to avoid the shankers like me. Although I hardly ever bothered. The point is to learn the game, learn how to avoid getting ganked. Its not that hard but does require effort. Something most new players are unwilling to do. Sooo, they keep getting ganked…
Some older players, too.
I can see that happening. I popped one guy who was pissed. He was an older player who got lazy. I paid him for his loss and after he calmed down, explained how I caught him. He ended up getting triple his loss and a good reminder about what the games about.
What ISK? I explore space- not just High Sec, but WHs occasionally or LS or even on the rare occasion, NS. And I mine. That’s it. I occasionally scan down combat sites to go raid. They pay ■■■■ too.
When I mine, I hunt down Omber, Mordunium, or Ice- none of that sells for ■■■■. It’s not worth having an Athanor since there are massive alliances that will gang up for a free kill. No structure is capable of defending itself and I don’t have a fleet of 200 Marauders to deter attackers so moon mining is out. -Oh and before anyone jumps in and says, “No they don’t!” Yeah… they do. I blew up someone’s Athanor recently. Not alone- I posted on Reddit asking about their defensive capabilities (LOL!!!) and a merc group from NS said it sounded like fun and joined me in blowing it up just for fun! I didn’t even pay them (Though they did take the core). I had already destroyed the thing’s shield. They joined for the armor and hull.-
I could do L4s a hundred times in a row, but that’s so ■■■■■■■ boring, I’d rather go play in traffic. Since I don’t bot 10 accounts each day like so many others, NS is out.
I log on a few hours a week and mine and explore. When I get bored, I sell PLEX and buy a cool ship that I’ll sell when I decide to move everything so that I can find a new home for a while. I’m not going to become just another botter in this game and that’s how you make money when you don’t play every day all day by hand doing the same thing over and over and over… and over.
I really only have one threat- my own ability to make stupid decisions. It’s the only time I ever lose a ship. I’ve outrun so many gate camps and even a few Interdiction bubbles. Gankers can’t touch me. Even when I fly my Hulk- they’re easy to avoid.
I could go play in Null if I wanted- but every time I try, I find myself stranded in the ship I came with with no way to buy new ones. Last time I tried, I had 20 billion ISK and a Proteus. I had a laundry list of ships and mods and got zero response in a week and a half about getting it filled. So I flew back to HS dodging the one bubble I saw. It’ll be a cold day in Hades before I ever try again. I’m done just sitting around in Null doing nothing because I only have one ship.
Null sucks. This why many null players play in low-sec, high-sec and wormholes.
You need to stage ships in null.
Buy a jump freighter.
Pilot it through Uedama…
It’s a jump freighter, it can literally jump over Uedama.
Do you people even know how to play the game?
10b (price fluctuates) for a single freighter is never going to happen- neither will the alts for a fleet of cyno ships.
PushX will stage ships for you.
It’s very affordable!
I think you missed the joke…
I never lost a DST in high sec. Play it your way.
Edit; I don’t think I ever lost one?
I’ve never been ganked.
Is that true? Show my yours and I’ll show you mine! ![]()
Technically, I don’t remember being ganked either. But when I did try mining, I always had backup.

You think that’s how “space” works?
What a noob!!!

That’s literally how it works, yes.
