About all the resource hogging that was supposed to happen. All the ghost theories about market crashes, huge fleets mining in safety, living in safety, yada yada and yada.
I think many folks very quickly realized just how unvaluable all that exordium ore is. I guess delayed common sense is better than no common sense at all.
I think Barney may be out of a job.
I haven’t been to Exordium, yet, is it full of happy newbs happily learning the game?
Are there still people doing burnouts outside stations with their fancy AT ships etc?
I guess I should go look.
I havent made a new character yet. Its still a plan to do if i can get out of my other games.
I explored there in my metamorphosis a couple weeks ago. I passed through several of its systems just to see what kind of crowd was there. To no surprise, manifest was somewhat crowded…with the occasional banter in local. The rest of the systems averaged 3 to 6 players with quite a few being completely empty. I never saw another system there extremely occupied as manifest was.
In some of those systems, i warped to the rock fields. Some of them had a single player there. Some had 2 players there. I didnt pull up any info on anybody…i didnt care how old they were.
All i did was a o7 in local and warped off.
I never saw any huge fleets of any type.
My metamorphosis couldnt pass through the mission gates, so i have no idea what was happening in those. Basically i just passed through a handful of systems just to see the jest of how it was all panning out. It was exactly as i expected. New characters are there doing the content but its not crazy busy. I never expected it to be. The zone is 3 weeks old now. I havent heard or read very much at all about what the zone is actually doing. The only discussions that keep sparking up are the negatives.
I would assume they got bored after 5 minutes, and realized they wasted their money on a ship they are too scared to use.
As many of us predicted, there hasn’t been (and most likely never will be) any mad “gold rush” to mine in Exordium. The ore is essentially worthless - and no self-respecting miner (especially bots and multiboxers) can hope to eek out any kind of living in Exordium (let alone PLEX their accounts).
High-sec is relatively safe if you want to semi-AFK mine (emphasis on “semi”, as you have to compress or jetcan every few minutes). But even mining for hours on end day in and day out - you will still be hard pressed to PLEX one account - let alone numerous accounts.
I think the only players making bank mining are those operating under the protection of a blue umbrella or cherry-picking the rare ores.
I made a new player a couple of weeks ago and saw what Christine spoke of. Noobs going about their business, asking questions and trying to get a handle on playing the game. There are no “massive multiboxed fleets mining in total safety” because the 0-Grade ore is pretty much worthless aside from turning in to complete the starter agent missions.
Exordium is simply a new player starter area that gives the noobs some breathing room as they grapple with the complexities of the game. There’s no bonanza of money to be made there as some fearmongers predicted. It’s simply not worth the time of an established older player to hang out there, other than to satisfy their curiosity.
You will not end Exordium regardles what you flame in a forum or ingame…maybe it will even be expanded to all of high like it should be…and even against THAT you are powerless… Face the reality…

Yeah highsec is too safe, no reason to mine in Exordium.
True AFK mining is performed with these max tank Orcas on moon mining. Anything else needs at least few actions every 10 or 15 minutes or 3rd party software to do it AFK.

How did you came to that assumption after reading my post? Am I making a daily threads about PVE in hughsec is being too easy, too safe and too lucrative and that it needs to be nerfed?

You are borderline pathetic… The problem here is not mine, it is about people that are brainwashed in a way that suggests that PEW PEW PEW is the ONLY way to play eve ‘correctly’. NOW with the ‘safe zone’ in the game they bite at everything that has to do with it because - unbelievable - there now is a place in the game their strange hobby cannot reach. And now someone comes around that suggest to widen it to all of highsec and it’s over for them…they FLIP OUT… THAT is ‘the problem’ here…

The only way to correctly play EVE is perfect infiltration without any flaws that leads you to become director of a holding corp to disband one of the top 3 alliances. And also make away with one of their assets or two…
Pretty sure Fenris said that ganking is a valid form of gameplay, and it’s their game after all.
Who is saying this? I’ve seen people say that mining is the only correct way, but not PVPers. PVPers actually like having miners and carebears to shoot at. Most serious Indy folk also like having pvp happen.
