Would you like to see new (T2) ships coming to the game?

Reply wound up being way to long and off topic so i sent you a mail going into it.

That battleship idea would be better tanking, but less or same damage as a T1 battleship from what i understand ? Otherwise it’d just make a Marauder with higher resists I feel like.

Fully removing the scarcity changes would be a good start. At least in the resource acquisition department

marauders are active tank. the idea for these would be passive bricks that require a logi

500kehp of a black Ops not brick enough? With links a widow already gets over 91% omni resists.

Looking at a tank fit rather then an ecm gank fit the widow can reach 1mehp burst with 1.1kehp/s recharge

Compared to the priority of adding new T2 ships? Almost Everything else. But thats an off-topic discussion.

That BS would have roughly the same DPS as a normal T1 battleship and no boni to active tanking. A better resist-profile and thus more buffer tho, and the ADC allows it to survive the first initial rounds of a bigger fleetfight, so you could use it as an first brick-squad to warp right on top of an enemy fleet, tackling expensive stuff and basically force them into a brawl. Then hold out until your reinforcements are on grid (warping in or FAXes cynoing in). Also useful to counter High-Alpha-Doctrines. You theoretically could use Damnations for this today, but these can’t fit Heavy Warp Disruptors or Heavy Stasis Grapplers. Assault Battleships could.

And how many tackle mods does such a Widow have? Does it have a Propmod in case your warp target moved even a few km while you were warping? Fit a Widow please that has an MWD, a Heavy Warp Disruptor and a Heavy Stasis Grappler. Then check the eHP without HG Nirvana or billions of Blingmods because people wouldn’t use those in a large scale NullNull fight where probably hundreds of enemies are on grid and bubbles spammed every few seconds Especially not if you are part of the initial wave. Wait, don’t do it, it’s like 300k eHP - with overheat and fleetboost. And thats by far not enough.

Those ships should work in real fights, not in Hotdrop Curbstomps where other ships do the tackling and the Blops just shouldn’t die. The goal for these ships is to warp into a 100man fleet, tackle something big and force the fleet to either run and abandon the tackled ships or fight a brawl. And for that you need a Brick that can survive like 30-40 seconds being primary to make sure you get reinforcements in. You’d probably need ~500k base eHP + ~20 seconds of 95% resists from the ADC to come even close to that. The downside is that you’d spend ~1.5b (fitted) for such a ship compared to a regular 500M T1 Abaddon. They would probably be a bit better for PvE than a normal Abaddon (resists + a bit better cap recharge), but by far not reaching the performance of a Marauder. And considering how bad an Abaddon, Rokh, Hyperion or Maelstrom is for PvE today, that wouldn’t be an issue at all.

I’d be fine with just buffing/tweaking Black Ops (we’ve touched on this in another thread or two).

• Widow: +1 launcher, +ROF increase, swap shield resistances » sensor boost
• Panther: +1 turret, +tracking disruption
• Redeemer: no changes
• Sin: total Gong Show (no idea)

Yes it has an mwd. The idea these would be fleet ships running under logistics. So no, i wouldn’t be fitting a bunch of tackle on them. The fit i described also would be pretty poor for dropping. As again it was built with the idea of it running in a traditional fleet.

Without nirvana you’re still looking at over 550kehp and 578ehp/s with links. And ofc 91% resists.

@Lugh_Crow-Slave Thanks for the carrier read - it filled in the missing gaps when I was away for a few years.

I think you’ve sold me on not necessarily having any more T2 battleships (at least until Carriers are fixed and Black Ops tweaked, anyway).

t3 battleships with a selection of subsystems please ccp

Yeah, I used to feel the same way. But seeing how much T3s have been nerfed over the years - probably less than a good idea at this point.
