Trading Alt: Ky’rah

  • Accounting 5

  • Broker Relations 5

  • Positive Wallet

  • Located in highsec space - Jita 4-4

  • No kill rights

  • In NPC corp

Start 2bil,Buy out 4bil.

broker relations is not at 5… if it was, your broker fee would be 1.5% across the board, not 1.8% and just training those skills wouldn’t qualify you to be a trader… now if you had standings with the trade hubs, that would make you more of a trader.

Yes, it would mean that your trader alt would actually yield you real profits and yes you can expand it with standings and other trade skills. You want to buy the char?

Not a trading alt, just an alt.

I’m new here, so I’m wondering about the value of a 1-day old character with injected skills, vs just spending the same amount of ISK on injectors to get the SP exactly where it’s needed.
Can anyone (e.g. @Ky_rah?) help me understand this?

(I note the point above about standing with trade hubs, and this is something I need to learn more about, but I assume that a 1-day old character would have the default standings with everyone.)

A large skill injector costs around 700 mil. you get 500000 SP, if you use a referral link you get 1000000 SP which is basically 2 large skill injectors so it saves you 1.5 Bil. For the rest I would advise asking your questions ingame with the rookie channel.

I noticed only after i made my comment that its a day 1 char. So yea zero standings with any entity until you start doing missions or do career agents

With broker relations at 5, that reduces broker fees to 1.5% that number can be decreased even more to 1% by improving relations with the faction and corporation that own the trade hub.

But to call this char a trade alt is dishonest at best

Thanks for the figures.
I’m confused though - if I assume that @Ky_rah has already used a referral link (for the 1M SP) then the character would have a value of around 700M ISK based on the total SP being roughly 1.5M right now.

If no referral link has been used yet (unlikely, I’m thinking) then the character would have a value of around 3x0.7M = 2.1M ISK (as QSNA suggests), and yet the buy-out price for the character is 4B ISK, so I’m clearly missing something pretty important.
(And of course I’m not understanding where that 1.5B ISK saving is to be had.)

So when buying or selling a character, real money is involved. It costs the person selling $20 real money to transfer character to another account..
So most people want to “make that back” by selling at a somewhat higher price than suggested… typically if its less than 5 million sp, its generally not worth to sell it, as it will only sell for 3-4 bil.

long time ago, before injectors/extractors the price used to be for every mil SP, it would cost 1 bil to buy.

considering this alt only has 1.5 mil sp, it will never sell enough for them to make the isk back..

if this was a legacy character from early 2000’s it would sell as there are some people that want characters from that era.
