You are losing millions. The Polish community in EVE Online is a sleeping giant

Dear CCP,

I am writing this because I am tired of seeing how you ignore the potential of the Polish gaming community. I have personally tried to get into EVE Online ten times and each time the story is the same. The game is brilliant but the lack of Polish language turns it into a grueling second job with a dictionary in hand.

You are looking at a skewed data set. You only see the “survivors” who stay despite the language barrier. You are ignoring the massive global Polish diaspora. We are not just 38 million people in Poland; we are millions more in the UK, Germany, USA, Norway, and Iceland. We are a global force. In April 2026, the Polish forum EVE Centrala peaked at over 7,400 users online simultaneously. With a Polish localization, this is just the beginning.

Here is a realistic revenue projection over the next two years, accounting for a 25% growth in the Polish player base every 6 months as the community mobilizes and invites more people:

Months 1-6: 10,000 players x 20 EUR = 1,200,000 EUR

Months 7-12 (Growth to 12.5k): 12,500 players x 20 EUR = 1,500,000 EUR

Year 1 Total: 2,700,000 EUR

Months 13-18 (Growth to 15.6k): 15,625 players x 20 EUR = 1,875,000 EUR

Months 19-24 (Growth to 19.5k): 19,531 players x 20 EUR = 2,343,720 EUR

2-Year Grand Total: 6,918,720 EUR

You are leaving nearly 7 million Euros on the table. This is a massive business failure based on a lack of vision.

We Poles have a history of doing the impossible. When the world was in darkness Polish mathematicians cracked the Enigma code. When the skies over England were burning the Polish pilots of Squadron 303 achieved the highest kill rates in the RAF. We took Monte Cassino when others failed for months. We do not quit.

If you do not realize how important Poland is to your own country then leave your office at Gróska (Bjargargata 1) and walk 10 minutes to the Hólavallagarður cemetery on Suðurgata. Look at the monument for the Polish sailors from the ship SS Wigry who died in 1942 while bringing vital supplies to save Iceland from hunger. Today Poles are the largest minority in Iceland. We make up 5 percent of your population. We build your houses and run your economy every single day. We have been your allies in the real world for decades. Why treat us like strangers in New Eden?

One of our greatest writers Mikołaj Rej once wrote: “A niechaj narodowie wżdy postronni znają, iż Polacy nie gęsi, iż swój język mają.” We are a proud nation and we deserve to play in our own language.

Stop making us fight the interface. Let us fight in New Eden. Give us the Polish language and we will show you what a real Polish mobilization looks like.

Fly safe,

For the Hussars! (Za Husarię!)

A Polish Pilot

They aren’t going to jump through hoops for a Polish gaming population that is smaller than my hometown…

Have you considered volunteering to translate EVE into Polish, and continuing it after each update??

I would imagine, like any other language that isn’t English, there are probably quite a few words that simply aren’t going to translate. For example, how do you say superheterodyne in Polish?

@Saxom_Aivo
Everyone i know is actually using the english client since EVE is a multinational online game in which a localized version is hindering your communication on just so many levels that it becomes impractical using it at all…it is all about communication with other players…

Bear in mind that with LLMs, doing localisation is cheaper than ever. And the new models are genuinely good at it.

Not a lot of people will use a Polish client, I should think. But it’s worth a try.

You’re as bad as the schmucks who go on every Steam game forum “demanding Turkish language support”. The Chinese do it too, but at least the Chinese actully have the numbers to be legitimate in their whining.

In a multilingual world, we chose English, largely because of the influence of the US and its idiosyncrasy in learning new languages. Globalization requires learning English. Let go of it and learn, stop complaining.

Idiosyncratic?

English Spanish speakers here are a dime a dozen.

Forgive us for learning the only languages that are actually useful in any given context we will ever experience.

The first website suggest one could volunteer with ISD

https://volunteers.eveonline.com/
Dead link

Second website mentions a volunteer localization team

Not sure if this third website displays anything but I suspect it too is a dead website/link

The LOC team provides volunteer support for the EVE Online localization department across various community projects. If you are a linguist or a communicator at heart and want to make EVE Online more accessible to players in your language, please apply here!

I am unsure if these programs are still running but we still have ISDs so I’d say maybe-ish.

It may be in your interest to create a support ticket to ask more about volunteer localization projects for polish speakers. Hope this helps.

@ISD_Drew links for volunteers??

Thank you ISD Drew!

Notice as soon as soon as you let them know they can do it themselves if they want it so bad, they disappear.

You think?

I’m quite sure @Saxom_Aivo will be back and instantly pick up the task once he notices. His introduction opener was so impressive, with the history of doing the impossible and that he will show what mobilization can be brought if needed and all that.

So i am readily standing by to see how the glory unfolds.
