01/02/2020 - Connectivity Issues

The problems reported here are not individual connection issues. They are symptoms of one big connection issue affecting many people.

The problem is server-side, not client-side. It is not our problem to solve. All we can do is wait patiently.

There is no magic solution lost in a thread from the 27th of January. Just thought I would point that out in case someone reads this and is scouring old forum threads for for the secret code that restores access to tranquility.

The PR/CSR position is ultimately just the voice of the developers in this situation. When there is nothing new to say because they are in fact working on resolving the issue, what would you have them do, create a new way to say the same exact thing over and over?

Ultimately CCP is a business, their entire process is the pursuit of profits. Despite what they might say, or in some cases NOT say one thing can be almost certainly assumed, they’re doing everything possible to maintain their revenue stream.

The sheer effort being put into restoring services behind the scenes is the validation of the customer which so many are begging for on this thread. They’re working for no other reason than to make sure any paying or NON paying player is able to enjoy the game.

I use Windscribe which provides a free 10GB/month. They have 2 free UK endpoints. Chat doesn’t always work but i don’t get disconnected at least.

So since CCP Convict started this post there has been only 2 more comments in it by CCP. Both are just saying x amount of posts merged. WTF . How about an update or something. You know just tell us wtf you are doing etc. Why do CCP keep ignoring its player base. Have done so for years and still do it now.

If this was the case, they would be communicating with their playerbase

I just realised that all of this is not only because of the DDoS, isn’t it? It’s to do with your migration to the new servers. I just remembered almost exactly the same thing happening back in 2009 or 2010 or so.

In order to centralize and improve the communication on the status of on-going problems, we have set up a new megathread that will be used for the duration until issues are resolved.
