You only say this in cases where its not favorable to the status quo. I mean you are the type of person who is first to open a chart of WoW subscriptions and be like “SEE ITS IS ALSO IN DECLINE” when someone brings out a chart of the EVE status monitor as if thats supposed to end the discussion and we should just be happy with what we got.
You ‘can’…but then Eve is not WoW. You are comparing apples and oranges. I’ve never played WoW…nor do I think I’d ever want to.
Comparisons are also often quite subjective. I played Dishonored and love it. I bought Dishonored II and hated it right from the start. Likewise…many claim Black Mesa is way better than the original Half Life…even though they are affectively ‘the same game’…but I much prefer the original despite the older graphics.

Just to be clear the WoW private server market is an example that the community is able to effectively run large MMOs on their own which someone didnt believe was possible.
For the record some of the most popular servers have handled 20k players without major issues so its not like its just a couple guys playing. They are professionally run servers with GM’s and everything. Just saying.

Most are p2w first of all. You can play on warmane for free ofc. It’s reducing chances of getting a spot in the better 25 man raid crews though.
And they are snapshots of a game long ago. People liked wrath of the lich king. Those private servers prospered from that. Wrath was a good excpac. Now WoD…yeah those never were big thing lol.
Some in this thread are the vocal high sec gank whiners. Fun fact….a private server based on eve say 10 years ago…would be worse.
I remember when tempests were cost effective in an eve version long ago to gank with. I also remember aoe dd titans. I remember and have mild ptsd from POs sov lol. That be the good old days returned to.
They weren’t all good though. See 3 titans drop….amd game over. At least it was a quick death.
