My advice is to stop trying to find something to do and to fly around and let something find you.
It wont be long before someone annoys you or you feel you want to help someone, and take it from there.
After this the rest of eve just falls into place, making isk is now for a reason, logging in is now for a reason etc.
This is exactly what I did. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do so I flew around the galaxy. I came across so many rare ice anomalies that were completely untouched (not like the ones in high sec) and became inspired to harvest it. It wasn’t listening to people in the forums that drove me - but rather, it was discovering it for myself.
Man I know the feeling I started out in 2007 when we still had learning skills but somewhere around 2015 I just lost interest I try keep going back but the game bores me to death mostly because I have no clue on what the hell I want to do. When I started eve the first 3-4 years was wonderful everything was new and everything new they added was cool like when they added Orca´s or before mining ships was changed when a damn hulk sold for 100mill or a plex cost 500mill instead of billions.
In away I wish you could removed selected memories start playing eve again like it was a totally new game for you. Or I wish I could find a reason to want to play eve again but all new stuff they added sucks balls like does damn Abyssal was fun the first 2-4 times when you did the lowest tire one then when you saw how much isk you had to spend to be able to do harder ones well the risk = reward was not worth it the risk and was not worth the reward. I mean if I wanted to make ISK for a new ship or to plex it. I would make more money belt ratting in null sec with reds in local and the risk would still be worth it.
So today I mostly hate eve than enjoy it I check the forums now and then in hope maybe something will rekindle the dead flame.
A group of us were talking about this in discord, and nearly everyone agreed that the group was what keep most going
Sure they bitch and moan at each other, but everyone has a laugh, and in general a good time, even when out mining belts or doing PI.
And god help anyone that decides it interfere with what the groups doing, being non-alliance players from multiple corp, the poor sucker will have the groups PVP ships on them within minutes, and if they manage to escape he/she/they might be hunted down or have a senor corp member having a word or two with them.
As others have said go for a fly and you’ll never know what/who you’ll find. I got lucky and found a great group of people, sure we’re old farts for all around the world, but we have fun and try to teach the younger corp members a few things if they decide to listen.
Best thing to do if you are truly bored, as others have suggested is take a break.
I have played eve since beta and I don’t think I would have survived this long without breaks. I played solidly the first 10 years and the last few years I have kind of drifted along but now there are so many ships I haven’t heard off and mechanics changed that it feels like a new game to learn again.
