Was planning on resubbing and made an alt with my steam account.
I searched for the recruitment link page and clicked the top link. I clicked “login to become a recruit” which I misread as “become a recruiter” and instantly it gives me the 1M SP for the account, didn’t ask me for confirmation or to provide login details, it just instantly redeemed it. I had paid for omega, so I wanted my alt to receive the benefits now it appears some random account not affiliated with me is receiving them since none of my accounts show a recruit.

How to resolve this? If it’s a steam account, can I just delete the account and start over since this one isn’t really going to give me anything now?
Your description isn’t very clear to me. The invitation is on a per account basis. So it goes out from one account to another - not from alt to alt on the same account.
But you did as you suppose…you became a recruit for someone else. And it clearly says it in all the texts. So better read up which links you click first and second what is displayed on the page you click.
You didn’t read and/or check two times in a row and just went ahead. Are you also handling your bank account data like this?

The option of making a new second account would work, yes. You need to get yourself the correct invitation link from your main account this time.
You can generate that link by logging into the store and then on the bottom click on “recruit a friend”.
That top link is someone’s recruitment link. It took me to the page and I clicked “login as a recruit”. That was my mistake. I have 4 accounts, this one is new. I was playing a new account to refamiliarise myself with the game’s content.
The point being that in 1-click, my account is now recruited to this random person’s account. I was going to use the link to get the 15 day omega time for one of my alts. But now that my account is linked to this random person’s account, there’s no point.
It’s now more an inconvenience given that this was my steam linked account (I used steam because I’m on linux and it has compatibility features via proton). So I’m now looking for how to completely cut off the account / delete it and start over.
