2 Years of Faction Grind (Standing 7.0+) about to be wasted by a COSMOS bug and CCP Support’s "Deprecated Content" excuse. Need help!

yeah buuuuuuut, you did abuse it, and now you’re advocating it to stop, even for those that arent abusing it.

I’m not hatin, just pointing out the issue.

i’ve seen many players accommodated by GM’s, some much more egregious than just resetting a mission. they only care about getting that petition queue emptied. ‘generosity’… *points and laughs..

I agree, some people can’t help themselves from abusing whatever system they encounter. They are not in the right.

Yes, generosity. Many games over the years have held a stance of “get bent” when players ask for concessions.

Thank you for your words.
I’ll keep you updated, today I got my quest rolled back. It’s been 18 days, but I got it.
I was also informed that the exploit will be investigated and some measures have been taken. I provided all the evidence and it has been taken into account. The person who does this has been doing this for years and I attached others from other people to my post. I made a post on Reddit and it got several tens of thousands of views.
I was also reimbursed for the time wasted on the quest and on this person, Who tried to kill me 5 times.

I did the Caldari COSMOS myself as well, and it was actually just a waste of time. I believe the CCP themselves admitted this and said they were going to fix it, but that hasn’t happened to date. Now, I do know that the Caldari and Amarr pay better than the Minmatar and Galente, but if you look strictly at standing, you’re better off doing the ARC missions.

It really is difficult for people to stay on topic. Unfortunately, this topic is not about ganking.

I’m not consistent, but it does indeed help if you’re PVPing and you get a faction standing hit.

I’m terribly disappointed to hear CCP abandoned their principles and ruined Navy Freya’s enjoyment of the game just because you whined about it.

Actually it’s been a lot more people over the years than just him…

FYI, you and your main griefer character should remember that ‘Actions Have Consequences’…

He could have just paid us for the item…

I guess his actions (or lack thereof) did have consequences!

Heh, go post your lameass remarks to somebody else…

Thank you for informing us of your emotional state. I’m trying to tell you that those principles were never there, because these actions to not, in fact, touch upon the grander sandbox principles of Eve. These principles state that you are free to derive enjoyment from Eve, but do not guarantee a pleasant experience. And the person most aware of that should be Freya herself.

As far as I am concerned you are simply two of the many people that think their “emergent pirate gameplay” principially matters to CCP. It does not, and it never has, because Freya’s gameplay causes a few support tickets and nothing more. The disruption is not big enough.

So the crying kid gets a new lollypop and the one that stole it during recess is not even tracked down because it doesn’t matter when we have a box with 2000 lollypops. Now CCP sells digital lollypops, which can be copied. She achieved nothing but wasting the OP’s time and that of the support team.

Been the same since '12.

Cool. Just be aware that “we’re investigating” actually means…

“Yeah… we’re aware of this stuff happening still, but this code is 20 years old mate. Accoring to the logs you might actually speak the truth, but we can’t 100% verify that. Soooo… here’s a new ship, please don’t make a new support ticket.”

Eve might be emergent, it’s still a live service video game with all the trappings of one. That means player retention and operational overhead are far more important to CCP then the marketing-spiel of fictional hyper-capitalism in space.

It’s sick that CCP allows such griefing like that group is doing. It’s why EVE has a bad reputation, too. Open PvP is one thing, griefing is another level entirely.

It’s just DISGUSTING that people would PvP in a PvP video game!

You’re confusing things. In this case, Freya just would like to earn ISK, and multi-window Pv”manyP” is just one of the methods she used.

To me the question of applying real-world morality does apply to video games somewhat. A proper heist comes with a proper prize, a motivation other then just pestering other players. There is an actual ingame justification for that action based on real incentives. This clearly is an example of there technically being one if you squint real hard, but it’s just a thinly veiled excuse to deliberately cause distress to someone that they had no beef with to begin with. If players have the freedom to feel like they did nothing wrong, then I do have the freedom to regard them bad players.

If only because they resemble a child forcing negative attention from a parent (CONCORD) by hurting a sibling, knowing full well the parent will still protect them from actual PVP regardless of their prior behavior. Gankers and thieves still have not flown the nest, and I do not regard them actual PVPers to to the limited scope of their actual combat actions. They don’t even play in PVP zones.

And this responding to a well-constructed post with some silly oneliner solely designed to aggravate the recipient… sigh. Forum culture used to be sharper.

This is incredibly baby-brained; the person doing this is war-dec eligible.
