In previous versions of the game, the Otomainen system had no stations or deployable structures such as Mobile Tractor Units, and the mechanics in place at that time were reasonable and fair.
After the update that permitted the deployment of structures and Mobile Tractor Units, the situation has changed significantly. One player, operating nearly 10 alternate accounts, has been camping the Contested Guristas Outrider Post almost 24 hours a day for years, systematically preventing other players from obtaining the required mission items.![]()
Access to these missions requires completing a substantial chain of storyline tasks, and Otomainen is a high-security island system with no direct connections to other high-security space, making it particularly difficult for players to engage with this content without interference.
Relevant kill reports and evidence of this ongoing behavior can be reviewed on https://zkillboard.com/.
I fully understand that the player’s motivation is profit, and I do not object to players seeking legitimate rewards. However, EVE Online has always been built on the principle that higher rewards should come with corresponding risks. In high-security space, particularly in this isolated system, meaningful risk is effectively absent, which creates an imbalance that was not present in the original design.
I respectfully ask whether this outcome aligns with the intended vision for the game. I sincerely hope that the development team will consider adjustments to the relevant mechanics to restore a proper balance between risk and reward.
I am aware that many players have encountered the same difficulties in Otomainen, and most have chosen to remain silent and accept the situation. Their silence, however, does not indicate that the current state is fair or correct.
Under the current circumstances, I have come to the conclusion that I—and many other players—will never be able to obtain the mission items from the Contested Guristas Outrider Post in Otomainen. This is not an individual problem; it affects a significant portion of the player base, and I sincerely hope that a meaningful solution can be implemented.
The majority of players cannot afford to maintain ten or more paid accounts simultaneously. I believe that players like myself, who operate only two or three accounts, represent the overwhelming majority. We invest considerable time and effort grinding faction standings, only to discover that the critical mission site is under near-constant 24/7 control by a single individual using multiple accounts
I could accept this kind of monopolization in low-security or null-security space, where risk is inherent and counter-play is possible. However, Otomainen is high-security space, and players in my position simply do not have the resources or the number of accounts required to challenge or displace the individual responsible.
I respectfully but firmly ask that CCP actively work toward resolving this issue. I need to know the outcome—whether a solution will be pursued and what it will be—rather than a standard response stating only that the matter will be investigated and appropriate action taken in accordance with the EULA and Terms of Service.
I raise this concern with genuine respect for the game and for the team that has sustained it for so many years. I truly hope for a resolution that restores fair access to this content for the broader community.
The list I’ve compiled so far is as follows:
Known rape IDs - Innkeeper EVE Milk Oats Scary little GreenMan SilentStorm67 Sky Aerial Koiman PlumbusX 10 Potatoes
24/7 bots and cheaters - Gaoz Exploration ANIMAL30 Futeria Mr Jawa Pulyx Koiman Pizdela Elvira Starone Futela Teleio
Some accounts seem to work like factory workers, rotating shifts, just to prevent other players from obtaining quest items, such as MYRKAI’s Data chip, which costs 2B in a contract.
Gaozina was on duty when I posted this.
