I don’t even remember the last time I used DOS. Not being able to recover accidentally deleted files is a terrible OS design flaw

Unless you actually change the bits, you can normally recover files no matter the OS. Most “delete/rm” commands on all kinds of OS actually just change a flag.

To be fair, they said before that they’d likely have a SP reimbursement and didn’t. If you give people SP when there are hiccups, you can’t blame people for then demanding it in a Pavlovian fashion. Personally, I hope they don’t. People want SP? Go buy an injector. Or, wait like I have for years and years to get them the right way.

You’re far more likely to be able to recover a deleted file on Linux than Windows. Look up ‘photorec’ and associated tools.

I remember MSDOS - going back to 2.11. Do you? Also DR DOS and several others. I’ve been a sysadmin for 30 years. Take several seats.

if you talk about third party tools, sure many exist to help you recover data even from formated or corrupted hard drives for pretty much every OS. But the OS itself should provide such functionality as well even if it is much less sophisticated.

Personally I rely on Dropbox. I dont mind for occasional clean instan it allows me to clean up a lot of garbage from my HD
