Verify cache and then restart your pc?

Try restarting your router to clear the ports, just a thought

I see over 26000 players online, why is it that I can not log into the game?

Can’t log into game, can’t even log into my account on the EVE website. Tried rebooting. This really sucks. Funny I can log onto here no prob, but not into account management.

I am also currently unable to log in… Just get an infinite loading cog on the launcher.

Figures these stupid attacks would happen on my only days to get some play time in this week. Sucks. Can I have my 2 days back?

I agree, but just to add, I also Believe that CCP should not compensate for some nerd (unknown) for causing this, as it is not CCP’s fault this has occured, however if CCP muck up and crash/bugger the game up then yes they should compensate, they (CCP) have little to no control over this type of mass attack, in fact I doubt anyone with access to the internet would be able to stop these.

Not a rant but in defense to CCP who work hard to be honest so that we have a very good game to play. Well until patch days :slight_smile:

Ok so I can’t log on (socket closed) on my office desktop, but I can log in just fine on my bedroom desktop. What gives??

I am also unable to connect. I suspect it may be because I am using a Steam account. I’ve opened up a help ticket.

I can get to the character selection screen, and I can select my character. After I hear the voice that says “Connecting…” my screen goes dark and a few seconds later I get two windows. They both say:

“Connection Lost. The socket was closed.”

If I look really closely on the left, I think I am connecting up to Rookie Help chat channel before I get booted offline. My best guess is Eve Online’s protections for the DDOS attack earlier today are a bit too stringent and is keeping Steam users out.

I guess I’ll have to wait and see about the reply to my help ticket.

Not just the steam client, I’m not using it and can’t connect either.

Ok apparently the infinite loading cog only happens when launching via steam, if I go run the exe manually I can launch the game, then I get the socket closed error when I try to log into a character.

It’s a waste of time putting a ticket in, i’ve done several and got nowhere. Same ■■■■■■■■ as last time i can’t log in again ffs…

It’s not that, I’ve been launching via steam, but my game account is not a steam account and I’m still getting the error, whether I launch via steam or not… So this is a more widespread issue than that.

I have the same problem and I don’t use Steam. I was able to get around it this morning by selecting my second character and then logging out and logging back in and selecting my first character. That isn’t working anymore.

The server thinks you are already logged in, that’s the issue. If you have an alpha account try to log that in it will say you can’t because you already have an Omega account running.
