you do know they do not use Amazon right, there chat servers would not be compatible with the game code, Eve is a Single Shard environment meaning everything is controlled in the eve environment. you cant outsource a part of it!
That chat server is not on the same server as the game
do you pay my subscriptions there tooty fruity, no do me and the resat of eve a favor and Keep you comments in line with the chat.
please show me all knowing one, where CCP says they have out sourced a critical aspect of there game, you see Chat is integrated into the game Code, that’s how you can link names, items, systems, and so on. if it was not all under one roof I can assure you that it would not work at all. But please show us all your vast knowledge, and please provide us with the link to the information regarding Eve outsourcing any aspect of this game? I mean I can really see CCP handing out there code to the most successful longest running single shard (meaning everybody logs onto the same environment) MMO in history…
Just because you personally aren’t aware of something that’s common knowledge for people who follow EVE Online’s technical development, and just because you don’t understand the concept of integrated systems in IT, doesn’t mean that something (in this case, EVE’s chat being handled by an outside infrastructure) isn’t the case.
I’m aware, but at the same time, service outages get reported because end-users are noticing the outage. That means there’s enough of a failure cascade going on to last a noticeable amount of time.
No local is whatever, but a lack of fleet, corp and alliance chat is BS.
outside the eve cluster is not the same as “outsourcing” it, it just mean it will run with in its on servers (or in the case a cloud based system" , that are very much connected to and controlled by CCP. as I said show me where it says it’s “OUTSOURCED” Meaning under the control of another entity, not under Direct control of CCP! that is all I am saying! not that it has not been moved to a cloud based infrastructure, just that its under the direct control of CCP they own the cloud it runs on.
the chat server hardware is outsourced if it goes down or connectivity to the server is being attacked that is out of control of ccp hands
The idea of a company not having the ability to deal with their own commercial infrastructure is absurd.
Of course CCP fixes it–that’s how it works. Otherwise it’s a big AWS issue which AWS, believe me, would have addressed.
It’s more likely CCP has no clue what broke yet/isn’t talking cause they have no ETA.
There’s no way CCP, which has many players, has no clue.
Appears to be broken once more.
Local list is the same across various systems.
@CCP_Paragon Hey mate. Don’t know if this helps or is related. Local still not working. I also had an issue where I selected a destination system. Route was set to prefer shorter. I then changed it to prefer Safer. The route in client did not update or change until I jumped into another system.
PS My local has not up date for 10 jumps
Chat still broken
My chat channels just came back up. Jumped to next system and local did not change for about 30 seconds but then changed to reflect (I assume) the current population.
Hope there will be some sort of compensation after this is solved…
чатов так и нет, даже проблемы с флотом. нет локала, корп чатов и флот чатов…
Working intermittently at the moment at best.
Some systems not showing anyone else, some showing heaps of toons who have since left the system.
Bit of a joke all round
Oh so nice Can see all my alts loged yesterday in random locals
Thanks to that I remind myself what I had to do in particular system what I would forget if not that feature. Good job
The main character local does not work and fleet chat does not appear my other alts are okay which still makes it pointless. Maybe time to check out other games available just now.
