Just saying, if I brought a car and my air freshener was not working I’d be legally entitled to compensation
I get what your saying, though note air FRESHNER not air CONDITIONER
I have no objection to CCP giving out whatever they want but if its the equivelant of a 39p Pine Scented Little Tree, Id still think it generous.
My apologies, it’s been a long day and my eyes are tired… I need to get new glasses. Of course, if my air fresher was defective, I’d legally be entitled to a refund or a replacement on that too <3
When a business fucks up and provides subpar service that leaves a bad taste in the mouths of dozens, hundreds or thousands of their customers doing something to compensate them for it so they will continue to be a customer is generally the standard. This is especially true when it happens in a way where the customer is affected through no fault of their own. What country are you in where that is not the case?
Any new update? Because the chat is far from fixed and the silence is not a good look. Are you even aware of it? Also what is up with the spotty API and the half broken image server? Any comment on that? @CCP_Paragon
I wasnt affected.
Do you think people who arent affected deserve compensation? And for what?
And why does it matter where someone is from? Im pretty sure there’s no international internet police that are going to force CCP to do anything they dont choose to do.
You are acting like this has never happened before in EvE and that precendent doesnt exist.
Guys, Ramona wasn’t affected. So the thousands of you that were should just suck it up.
Actually you were, even if it was indirectly. If miners can’t mine because “it’s not safe”, the market gets impacted. Your prices for goods and services likely went up, even if only marginally and temporarily so, as a result. If the PVPers can’t create fleets because channels don’t work, that’s less potential content for you flying around in space. If the gank victims don’t login, you have no one to shoot at. So, sure, even you deserve some form of compensation.
Sorry, youll need to explain how that would be a bad thing.
Besides, I didnt detect and real fluctuation, I mined ice, hauled fuel blocks, went on a bash and explored sites as usual. As did my corp and our coalition.
If anything changed, it was our gain, not our loss.
That’s great for all of you. You somehow managed to have your channels work long enough to make that happen. Thousands of other people could not. Do you not understand that you aren’t the only human in the world?
We didnt do anything that was beyond what you and anyone else could do but chose not to.
Yeah, this is where you’re absolutely 1000% wrong.
I can assure you thats not the case.
But lets return to the question I posed you;
If my coalition did better during the last week than before, are we entitled to be compensated?
If CCP fucks up and cripples their own game affecting tens of thousands of paying subscribers, all of their players should be compensated for it. If they managed to find work arounds that allowed them to still play the twitching remains of a mostly unfunctional game, well good for them, but that changes nothing, They should still be compensated along with everyone else.
Yeah now you are just exaggerating.
Im going to guess by your emplyment history you dont remember previous instances of this, but I can assure you CCPs response has never been consistant.
So if they choose to give you nothing, whats your response going to be then?
I will probably let my 15 Omega accounts expire and play something else for awhile.
I liaised with GM Rex who passed on my bug report about the image server and it was fixed overnight, so if nothing else that issue should be sorted. Best of all, he didn’t tell me I was using the chat system in a way it wasn’t intended
You were, you just don’t care which is cool and all - but your clients were still affected by the outage.
Fun side note, CCP gave all Omega accounts free skill points in the aftermath of the chat migration to AWS because it was a ■■■■ show. It was either 250 or 500K, I don’t remember which and am on my way to bed so I’m not going to go looking for the dev blog, but I cited it to CCP the other day so it’s in my browser history somewhere, I can find you the link tomorrow if you’re interested.
I think that would be the best for everyone concerned.
I will let you know when what you think starts to affect what I do. Hold your breath for me while you wait for that day to come.
Im really starting to get bored of the fact in the modern day there are so many people who think they should be immune to set backs and misfortune.
Its called opportunity, people would do well to deal with adversity than beg God to rain mana on them when something bad happens. The fact that there us no inbuilt random natural disasters or disease or crime etc in EvE is one of the things that makes it a poor example of a functional market, after all.
Nothing prevented anyone from logging in. The twin lies of “no communication from CCP” and “no work around” are not grounds as they are clearly false, and literally thpusands of people played happily regardless.
CCP can give people anything they want to, but Im not going to cry just because Local went away. The EULA makes the position clear so Im not expecting anything.
My glass is still half full whichever way the dice lands, I have no understanding why youd chose it to be otherwise.
Im sure plenty of folk will grr at me for this, but I really dont care, why waste your life worrying when you cpuld grab opportunity and Rip Torn your way out of the bombbay screaming YAHOOOOOOOOO
And the medal for Most Cringey Sycophant of 2023 goes to… [drumroll}
@Ramona_McCandless !
It costs CCP pennies to add a few SP or some game time to peoples accounts. One person can do it with a few keystrokes. There have been dozens of people in other threads who have said they will or have stopped their subscriptions because of this, so it will cost them much more to do nothing to win those back.
