Or, assuming he did not fire immediately on land, he could easily have pre-locked the target on all of them first so that he could cycle through them.
How many times does this dude alt-tab? It’s not Eve, but just the same, as soon as your mouse moves into a tile the input is directed to that tile and only that tile.
I’m just saying that in instances where he did not need to fire immediately on land, that would further reduce the complexity.
As mentioned in the other sequence, it is easily accomplished in a very short period of time.
As for the combat log, you just edited out you may as well not hide that it’s your alt/main. Regardless, that bit of evidence should have been posted first.
I would conclusively say there was input broadcasting if the log was legitimate.
I will speak to the player concerned about this. Not in terms of a petition or anything but to find out what I can do with the logs, I asked for them to check the method the gankers used to get his JF and it was given to me on that basis. I also used them to point out that they don’t need to be able to bump in another thread.
EDIT: Note that my logs are from another kill on an alliance mate, nothing to do with the OP and the original kill mail. If you want to think I am trolling then feel free, and why should I edit anything.
Tell him to post them as well as edit the OP. More importantly, tell him to file a ticket. Amazes me how many people thinkt hat posting in the forums negates the need to file a ticket.
This whole post feels like an elaborate troll now. “CCP this guy’s cheating”, no proof, just a KM to something that can be done easily and legitimately. When he had actual information that could have contributed tot he conversation.
Again, this is based on the logs being legit. It’s pretty easy to edit the timestamps and paste it. That said, CCP’s logs will not be edited.
When playing in Windowed mode and setting the windows up in a specific pattern one can fairly easily go thru each one, targeting a broadcast target, and “hitting F1” to fire. Though it is usually easier to rebind the keys you want to use to something else. Just 3 keys per account, change, lock, fire, repeat… how fast can you hit 3 different keys?
Fun bit of useless fact, to reach 60 wpm on most typing exams it requires at least 5 keystrokes per second… ~6 keys for 80… and this requires some degree of cognition.
It tells you how many mouseclicks per second you can do. 10 clicks per second is already kind of hard, but doing this in a manner where you have to move the mouse from one window to the other seems pretty unlikely.
If you had 10 windows staggered, the size as small as possible (so you don’t have to move the mouse far) and then you click, move, click, move… activating 10 modules in one second means 20 actions of your hand and finger in perfect coordination (actually 40 as you have to count the antagonist movements as well). I won’t claim it’s impossible, but it seems very unlikely.
There have been some studies of this, which looked at how many movements per second a human can do. For very tiny finger movements 8 Hz seemed to be around the regular maximum. The explanation was that for any “back/forth” movement you have the antagonistic muscle and it can’t relax much faster than it has to for 8 combined movements per second. Try it out yourself. The faster you’re trying to go, the closer you will get to a state of being stuck - no movement at all.
So I’d say 10 of these movements plus another 10 for moving the mouse seems pretty unlikely in the timespan of 1s. Even 2s seems unlikely, but more realistically possible.
I will ask the player concerned, if he says yes then I will send them to you. He is a hard nosed Eve player who does not care about losing stuff, so I doubt he would petition it in any way. Well that is how I see him…
when’ve you been in a fleet the last time? one char broadcasts the target. the fleet window’s on the same spot in all clients. assuming a low enough ratio between his scan resolution and the target’s signature radius, he’ll be locking slow enough to cycle through all clients a first time to lock, a second time to shoot OR he’ll be doing it all in one single cycle.
yer both being right about how locking the target needs to be taken into account, but it ain’t not complicated at all or slow to pull off. there’s no need relying on camera position.
Don’t need to broadcast, in HS ganking you can easily just use a filtered overview. But yes, you can use broadcasts too
The logs which were subsequently edited out (for some reason?) showed the actual volleys taking place at the same time. In order to do this, input broadcasting would need to happen. I’d be horrified and impressed if someone could do all of the lock commands (as the module would be pre-activated and pre-heated) in a single server tick.
Never said it was slow or hard. On the contrary, I said that running 10 accounts at once is pretty easy, and if you want to really streamline it you can do so legally with ISBoxer to make it even easier (or to make it ‘as hard’ with more accounts)
Ultimately, based on the log, I have a very hard time believing that it did not involve input broadcasting. But again, the log is just text which can be edited. So if the log is legit, he’s cheating. If the log is not legit, 10/10 would be trolled again.
I used to play a lot of fps games in the 90’s and early 00’s so I am way out of practice, only got 13.53/s. Could probably get 25-30 with my multi-button mouse from home.
When I change between screens and queue actions… I don’t need move the mouse.
