Here’s My Question To The Eve Online Community.

I am planning to by an Imac for Multi-box play. Will the following be powerful enough?

Radeon Pro 580 with 8GB video memory "

P.S. Please don’t go all PC-Master Race on me

Looks like overkill. You’ll be fine.

Just be aware that there’s no cure for Mac.

Am I Dying Dr. o7

I use Bootcamp to run EvE. It is much more stable than running it under Wine

You are happy one. That’s overkill.

The iMac 27-inch Retina monitor, due to it resolution and technology, displays the image larger and deeper than any other monitor with the same size.

Just use addition monitor to display multi-box… don’t ruin quality pleasure of 27 Retina view by loading the screen with boring clone-windows.

The EVE will run better under Windows. The Bootcamp is easy to install and use on new iMacs, starting from Lion version. Install Win 7 or Win 10 under Bootcamp and avoid Win 8. The Win 10 have another color generator technology which will display colors very quality. BTW, for the Bootcamp operation prepare a 18GB USB 3.0 Flash Card, otherwise, with USB 2.0 it will take a week.

Thank You, To Two  o7

Thank You Both. And by the by I am going to EVE Vegas 2017

Hardware looks good.

Good enough to sell on ebay for GTX 1080 money and a case to put it in

might want to look into issues of UI scaling with a 5k display. 27 inches is a big display, and 5k means you are going to have tiny icons, and the combo of high res and large screen means things will be spread all over the place.

probably yes. I use an off the shelf laptop and can run multiple clients off it. EVE isn’t a highly intensive game

My 27 inch iMac is almost 3 yrs old. 24GB of memory, 2.7ghz. I can run two clients easily, though the fan does kick in sometimes. Wine runs fine, 98% of the time.

Im a mac owner for my business but did build a mini pc for gaming on my TV,

I see the graphic cards are better now in the iMac but it still under perform by the pc I have build in 2014 with a R9290X for a lower price.

Go for a PC and save your money Eve runs much better!

I have a late 2015 iMac 27" 5k retina. Eve looks freakin amazing on it. Just need to turn down a couple of the graphic settings to medium (otherwise undocking is a little choppy) which hardly makes any visual difference, and it runs smooth as an eggs testicle.

AMD Radeon R9 M390 2 GB… btw
