3 months after fanfest and what do we have?

That’s some good math, sign me up for a workplace like that.

But it’s not only those 3 months, it’s also few months leading up to the fanfest.

What did we get in 2022?

  • Doctor who event
  • Guardian Gala event with some small fixes and AT ships
  • Some attempt to reverse surgical strike (numbers adjustment, not really a feature)
  • Industrial cores and related mining changes, at least a bit bigger scope, so I’ll give them that…
  • Some more generic events with Smugglers and Hunt event and few numbers adjustments on some structure weapons + rorqual jump drive taxi
  • Another generic event with Gallente Federation Day, Korean NPE (bet ya this was outsourced, so not really counting it), another adjustment on structure shields and hull timers, adjustment to component requirements for some blueprints
  • Oh look, more generic events, Amarr Foundation Day and The Minmatar Liberation Games
  • Air Career + NPE updates, I guess that took some time to develop
  • The Caldari Union Day event

Add proton UI, which I am undecided for, since nobody really asked for it…

But to me it seems for 2 characters, even at 15 euros per month, it’s been 8 months so that is 240 euros in a space ship game, no new ships, no new missions, no new content (these generic filler content events are not really cutting it), same old numbers adjustments on same things, etc…

So 240 euros for NPE which doesn’t affect players who play for longer than a year + proton UI which most people don’t even use + industrial cores

Am I missing something big? Also considering how people were riled up about the price change and them promising things for the fanfest, you’d expect we would already have those features. I fully expect at least 2 more structure adjustments till end of the year and 3 more useless event sites which most people skip. But let’s see, eh?

Exactly, I am not really a hoarder myself, but I have stockpile in Jita where I keep few items like implant sets, geckos, etc. Along with few PVE ships, my net assets have gone considerably upwards since the beginning of the year, doing absolutely nothing. Too bad I didn’t keep my jump freighters from 2019

I disagree. Market changes helped small scale trades like me. Nobody is forced to sell via sell orders, if someone desperately needs isk he can sell directly to buy order. Often with low market skills (or on alpha) the difference is really neglectable anyway. And then if the new player undercuts it with 1/10/100/1000 isk then he should expect it can be undercut again and he won’t sell that immediately. The choice is always there, immediate gain or slighly more with risk. This is working as intented.

And for high value items, I am using contracts. That way I can sell them in middle range between buy/sell and still make profit.

Anyway you are contradicting yourself here, first you say that the relist fees are deterred and you don’t want to change the order once set up, and then you say that if some small scale trader puts 10 pieces of items that you are selling yourself you will instantly undercut him. This doesn’t make a sense to me and it is not really matching what I see ingame. It is usually brand new sell order from new market trader that undercuts me.

Previously when you could relist for 0 cost it lead to abuse. It wasn’t small-scale market players who were playing the 0.1 isk games, it were the big ones and you could not compete with them. There were probably botting involved as well. This is now gone and player has to think and observe market history before he puts a sell order. Again working as intented.

Oh right about that, + market fees.

Thats bull… 90 days i 3 months. That is plenty of time to sell it all if the price was good or your estimate on local market demand was correct. I was also selling in remote regions before and I tried that now. I sold things, but I had to undercut it daily because of competition. Sure that lowered my profit, but I was selling them for about 120% Jita sell, so it still paid of.

I believe that the main reason why other market hubs and local markets died is mainly due to the less actual players playing. So I will disagree here with @Aisha_Katalen as a highsec player I don’t see any reduction in multiboxed fleets whatsoever, on the contrary I noticed a huge drop in actual real players doing stuff in space other than hauling their ■■■■ to and out of Jita. Jita is a good example itself, there is always at least 700 up to 1200 players but only fraction of that ever undocks. And this number didn’t really change that much from before scarcity.

Eventually it is possible that the new sub prices and PLEX prices will limit multiboxing, but it looks like a long time run.

That’s a lot already. And the players don’t need to ask for anything, if CCP wants to improve the UI or start a new event they are allowed to do that. They own the game, the players don’t.

…that no one forces you to pay.

There are enough ships to have fun with. If you’re not satisfied with these ships then the new ships would get old fast too and then you’d ask for more ships and more and more… all while saying it’s too expensive.

The players are the content. It’s a sandbox and there are plenty of things to do and items to use.

I hope not

They didn’t promise anything for Fanfest, they announced new developments and are working to release them as fast as they can. They’re not miracle workers.

Let’s.

Glad you’re having fun.

I’m illiterate, how could I know that?

Offer rescinded… total lack of quality awareness.

And that is exactly what an imbecile or very greedy player would do. Which is the risk I am talking about.

For example, I did bought cheap Machariel in lowsec for 690mil. I managed to bring it to Jita, where the highest buy was 796mil and lowest sell was 835mil (Perimeter citadel) or 850mil in Jita.

I bought pretty low and I wanted the money immediately so do I list it for 849 mil sell order? No I am not an idiot. I went for Jita split via contract, sold at 830mil in 5 minutes. Profit was 110 mil. If someone is greedy and list that under 849 (which without perfect market skills and super high standings will get him only like 10mil more anyway) and you undercut him, well that is the risk he should have count with and if he didn’t have enough capital to continue trading other things it is his fault.

Still, even that player has an ability to undercut you significantly low so you will not consider undercutting him. He will lose a considerable sum for being stupid, but he still get decent profit doesn’t he?

Okay I think we are talking about something else completely. I suppose that under your definition I am not trader, just opportunistic seller. So I can’t really say how this change affected small-scaled “traders”. All I am saying is that for someone like me, who comes to Jita once a week and put some orders and leave it be for a week, the changes to market were absolutely great.

You misunderstood me. I usually sell at sell order, however if the difference of current sell and current buy is too small or I have low value of the items, I do sell to buy order. Unless I know that the sell is gonna go up eventually, then I keep it in hangar and try to sell it later.

The reason why the market changes are good for “trader” like me is that before when I came to Jita and put anything to sell. It was immediately undercut by -0.1 ISK. It didn’t took more than 5 minutes for this to happen. You can say what you want about big traders not doing it, but someone was doing that and often he was selling large amount of goods. So who was it?

So basically I was forced to play the -0.1 ISK game for hour or two to have a chance to sell (or buy) the things I wanted. Now I don’t have to. The fee for relisting for someone selling 1000 280mm howitzer is too significant to undercut mine 70 pieces so why would he do that? He knows that it will sell and it will sell fast so why should this big trader undercut me? Sure it does happen sometimes but I am more inclined towards nullsec JF hauler coming to Jita and putting sell orders rather than this big trader like you undercutting me. When that happens I leave it linger there for 3 months usually, if it doesn’t sell till then, well it is a loss, but that is the risk you are taking when selling with sell order and overall 95% my orders was eventually sold.

Why, did you think it was the best part?

I thought you were unable to like anything

All I know is, Im a small trader and I started selling far more far more easily after the changes vOv.

Id stop arguing with him, he is utterly contrarian just for fun and happens to be good at it.

Exactly. I am selling majority of my stuff in 1 hour after I put the sell order. This didn’t happen before the changes when the 0.1 ISK undercutting was a thing. Sure it sold eventually most of the time, but could take days or weeks. Now I can put maximum sell orders, and after 1 hour I can sell more stuff which is important as on alpha I can only put 17 orders (I don’t like to circumvent this limitation by alts I prefer selling on my main trader mainly because he has very few % lower tax with caldari navy and every % makes a difference).

Well, no matter what, rich only get richer as they say.

And in EvE, so do the poor

Nothing has changed. For two years they hid from the world listing to CNN and fearing the gates of hell were about to open. No real results, no real attention to the mechanics, just pulling a pay check and blaming the great Covid 19 Air Dragon. Honestly I am fed up with the verbal blow jobs we get while they are demanding increased prices for the same old slop. Going fishing. Word is the rats are jumping ship now looking for any place to land and as for me no more real money nor real time will be wasted on this dribble. Will be looking for the financial reports if they are released, but got a feeling that they had an artery blood and are hemorrhaging out fast. Got just a 100 or so days left on my last omega account and will not log in to this woke broke game again. Good Luck Himler with your debts.

When you do stop logging in please stop posting here as well.

EVE: Uprising Officially Announced November 2022

The changes to margin trading really crushed it for me on top of the massive broker relist fees.

I almost exclusively dealt in smaller outlying areas. So many items didn’t sell in 3 months. So I stopped selling in those areas rather than maintaining orders that now would result in massive losses.

But on the other side, with margin trading removed it now means you now need 4x the capital up front to keep your buy orders going. On top of the insane fees. I’m not going to 4x as much tied up forever on buy orders in remote areas that might take half a year to fill. So instead I let all of those go away.

So now I just do micro orders in a couple main trade hubs and if something undercuts me I make a new micro order. Then if there are “orphan” orders here and there later then I’ll relist then but that is much more efficient cost wise than relisting a large order.

So in trade hubs it went from 0.1 isking people (which I preferred as it rewarded people being active as opposed to rewarding people that aren’t) to make my large order fill faster to making undercutting with micro orders over and over such that they wouldn’t bother relisting. And if they did I’d immediately undercut again with a new micro order. Outside of trade hubs is dead for me except on rare cases.
